Quick thread backstory; My cat's not well, her breathing's all messed up, dad's gone to vet's to find out what's wrong.
Needless to say, I'm a little stressed about the whole thing. Might as well get a discussion rolling out of it.

So, what do you lot do to calm yourselves down? Could be from from the rage of playing a game to that thing at work that's got you all riled up, how do you go about getting it off your mind?

Side note:
I know there was a thread about this, but that was from a couple of months ago and it was about getting rid of anger instead of general stress.
Plus my cat's gonna die and I'm an attention whore.

First of all, condolences on that. My dog seem's to be going the same way.

But yeah, for stress I usually start listening to some music, take a walk through the wood's nearby, or boot up an action game and set it to easy so I can curbstomp my way through

I find most sand box games with vehicles rather relaxing. My favourite part of GTA:SA was just driving around the countryside listening to the radio

I usually listen to music, play WoW or (this is what works best) go on MSN and speak to my friends. I have some people on there that are pretty fucking helpful when I'm pissed off or whatever, and I'm the same to them. It works very well.

EDIT: Or lift weights, when I'm really pissed at something I won't even think 'hey, I've done thirty reps, I'm only supposed to be doing ten', it'll just be 'MUST LIFT WEIGHT'.

Make a playlist of your favourite music on a music player. About two-to-three hours' worth.
Kick it on shuffle.
Listen to it.

If not, wank, talk to friends (about cool things) and sleep.

A man after my own heart. I've doubled four mile runs into 8s by just shutting everything down and focusing on the ground and my feet.

Haha, yeah I've been able to go really strong on the rowing machine by just blanking out and looking at a hole in the wall. I'd run instead (rowing hurts the ass) but I've heard stories from friends/people about how other people have fucked themselves over from running.

Yeah, there are a lot of horror stories and I've seen runners do horrible things to their hearts. What I do, barefoot running, is also probably one of the more dangerous ways to run to.

But yeah, when in the gym I just stare at a point on the wall until the paint starts to peel and blank out my mind.

I find breaking things to be an effective way of relieving stress. Of course then you have to clean up whatever you've broken. You have to be carful not to break anything important as well, I once in a blind flash of rage broke my only cd player. Had to go without music for weeks.

If you are old enough to drink, that is your answer. If not, put some great music on and work out. Those are the two things I do when I am stressed.

Any of the following help chill me out; beer, waking, naping, hanging out with friends, and reading.
