Damn, beat me to it.

Yeah, women can be bros. 'Bro' is really just a term of endearment used to unify a particular social group, usually close friends, not always womanizers as popularly believed.

I don't think a girl can be a guy's bro, but a guy can be a girl's bro, so it's the same thing- only that the broship isn't mutual (which in itself doesn't have to be more than a formality).

If any of you pronounce a girl your bro, the broverment will come and take your brocard.

I think a girl can be your bro, but you have to find a way of defeating rule 1 of male/female relationships - the fact is if a guy is friends with a girl, there's a chance he wants to fuck her.
I don't mean to be vulgar, and I know there are some high and mighty dudes out there saying they have plenty of female friends they've never thought about banging. Those dudes are liars.

My point is for a girl to be your bro, you have to have been friends for so long that you've forgotten she has lady parts.

But it's doable.

I have a few female friends whoem I have no interest in as far as shagging, and the feeling is mutual. They are however probably some of the best friends I ever had and we walk through hell for each other. Not sure if that counts as a 'bro', but it guy/gal friendships do exist.

Most of my bro's are girls anyway. It's hard to find guys willing to, ya know, talk. Which is why my best friend "used to be gay". And there's a story behind that if anyone is interested :p

Females are usually too cautious and unable to leave their intelligence at home to be a 'bro' of the quality you talk about. It takes a very special, fanatically loyal breed of stupid that seems to only belong to the male of the species, that alows one to charge side by side into the brink and stare into that abyss we seem to call ' a good idea at the time'.
That actually made me laugh! Thanks for such an accurate definition of the "bro" term. It shed new light on the whole thing!

If the "Bro Code" only represents the idea of having someone at your side who will do anything to help you, and you would do the same for them, then I see no reason why a girl can't be a bro. I know I have at least one female friend that I have this kind of relationship with.

Not talking about a literal brother here, because obviously they can't. But, in the realms of 'brodom,' a bro is one of those guys who'll do anything for you from being your wingman to helping bury a body. Now, everyone knows that a girl could do those things, but does that actually make them your bro? Or do you think that is illegal according to the bro code?
The "bro code" is a bunch of sexist hypocritical nonsense so naturally girls are excluded by default.

However if what you're asking is if a girl can be your best friend, then the answer is definitely.

Or, you already had sex in the past, realized you weren't romantically compatible, and have settled nicely and wonderfully into brohood (or best friend-hood).

Me and my best friend are like that, but judging from the Barney Stinson-context, we're just best friends.

I agree. This reply may seem a little weak so I guess I'll put in a picture that may be related.

actually a term has already been invented to facilitate the acceptance of women into the brohood.

a female bro, is a Hobro, not to be in any way confused with the derogative term "ho"

edit: I did not invent this term

the bro code states that women make some of the best bro's. i have lady bro's so i think they can at least. on the other hand the existance of the bro code should be denyed to all women so go figure

Re-write rule one frome this
1) Bros before hoes. The bond between two men is stronger than that between a man and a woman because on an average, men are stronger than women. That?s just science.

Does that help?

Your over use of "bro" in everything really makes me sick, but yeah, I have a friend that is a girl that is the same as some of my male friends.

Not really, they can be good friend as long as they are unattractive, but guys/girls have different preferences in topics so it can't be the same "bro" like connection, it's also alot easier to relate when you are of the same species.

You see, that's the thing, I don't know what degree of irony people are using when they say that!

Serious answer I guess: Yes, duh, obviously.
