I've never played it, but in my time with an RAF cadets (sort of) contingent I do know a lot about battlefield tactics and stealth. Very useful in shooters and RTS's ;)

Anyway, here goes. Stay in cover, make sure you're hiding well before you try engaging the enemy. Aim before you shoot. Try a bit of sniping but make sure that you move after each shot, else they'll figure out where the sniper is shooting from after repeated shots and just come after you. Don't take on large groups of opponents if they team up, and if you're playing in a team rather than free-for-all then for Gods' sakes make sure everyone knows what their role in the team is.

Just treat it like TF2 and you'll be fine.

Don't get shot :p

But seriously, fire a couple of shots then make sure you watch where those shots go, then you can adjust your aim accordingly (they're fairly easy to see). Other that that, stay behind cover as much as possible.

Wear a KUP/CUP!

Aim for the body

Keep your head down

try wipe off the spray from a not so clean hit, everyone else does

Conserve ammo for the first half of rounds, let a few extra for the 3rd quarter then let rip for the last

dont play with dicks, that's why i dont play. I went to one big thing and it ended with a guy going to the hospital coughing up blood because someone fired a whole hopper into his back at point blank

I have a few.
1. Don't get shot in the small of your back or the side of the head. It fuckin' hurts.
2. Conserve you ammo.
3. Keep your fecking head down.
4. Remember that you are awesome.
5. Don't do anything stupid.
6. Don't be at the front of ANY charge. You'll look like a chimp has lobbed paint at you.
7. When in cover, blind-fire like hell. (Contradicts 2 but who cares)
8. Is this just normal paint-balling or objective based?
9. If there's any vans on the field (was when I went) remember, you can shoot UNDER them.
10. Don't be an idiot and stay back, go up and assist your mates, dammit.

I hope these were helpful.

well i was hoping it was going to be teams but im not sure yet. i hope i can be a leader cos im that sort of type. on COD games i tend to go first for exmaple making everything seem like a suidcide mission on that game by going first into the gun fire. hopefully i wont get pegged to death with paint balls :/ oh well

Remember this, you can be taken out with one shot by enemies much more competent then you could ever even hope to be, so sneak. Stay down and don't let them see you, and began to creep across the field... Your knees will lock up after a while but don't stop! Stay quiet and keep on crouching. By now your mask is fogged up and you're beginning to see whiteness, but keep creeping. Once you've gotten far enough from the starting place wait. Look around corners if you think you can get away from it, but never be sudden. You must always be cautious. Eventually someone will miscount the enemies and rush right up to you. Shoot from cover and move on.

Edit: I also would recommend a ski mask as it will protect your head and camouflage it. Also the first team to make it farther into the battle field before being pinned down usually wins.

1. head down
2. if moving to cover, don't stop halfway and turn back, it will hurt /more/
3. always look around the side of a cover, not over it, the lower you can be, the better
4. try not to get into a straight 1v1 shoot paint at eachother battle, you very rarely hit the other person
5. flanking is good, if you can get around someones cover, do it
6.remember to look around while engaged with someone, the second you get the "blinders" on and start looking at the person in frontof you constantly is the second you will be flanked
7. being out of ammo is not the end of the world, run dummy for your team, it doesn't hurt /that/ bad
8. long range shots won't work unless you know how to use the wind, i'm assuming you don't, so get closer
9.keep ya damn head down
10.get behind them

aside from that (and the multiple KEEP YA DAMN HEAD DOWNS) have fun dude, i've not been paintballing in a long time

Get camouflage. The first time I went paintballing, everyone else had it except me and my friend. Not only did I feel stupid, my jeans and sweatshirt didn't allow for stealth.

Always have an extra hopper for quick reloads. You never know when you'll need it.

And for a sure win, buy this:

A paintball tank

make sure you conserve ammo actively retreating at every possible point and hiding, may look bad at the time but its always fun to be the last man on the battle feild with ammo left. They will be at your mercy. If its not teams that is.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

*ehm* sorry about that.

if it is teams, try to get your teammates to make the other team to fire at them and waste their (the other teams) ammo.

or if your feeling stealthy

Have fun!

I don't know why but I always laugh at people who take Paintball uber seriously.. I mean, its cool that you know what your doing, but it is still a game.

I played a night time laser skirmish thing once, and this dude kept telling me what to do. I was all "Dude, settle down.." He kept doing it so I shot him and he raged, it was hilarious.

Aim for the mask. Nothing knocks an opponent out of the fight faster than having to get their mask cleaned. Back of the head also kills.

When aiming at the front of the body, aim low, because their chest is often covered by the gun and arms. If you wanna hurt them, aim low.

Fire slowly, in small bursts, so you don't run out of ammo. Don't stay in one to place to long and buddy up with someone you trust so you don't have to worry about covering all angles.

The faster firing the gun the more inaccurate it gets as the day goes by (because of paint sticking in the barrel).

And don't think of it like a video game, don't try and be a hero, don't try and lead or make complex plans. Plans you make tend to go to shit as soon as the game starts. Check out where the enemy are and match them in strength.

Wear gloves. It makes it easier to hold the gun and you will get hit in the hands a lot. I didn't wear them once and suffered incredibly because of it. End of the day my hands were bloody and swolen.

This. Do what this man says. I can't stress this part enough. Getting a paint pellet right on the forehead above the mask HURTS. LIKE. HELL.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've seen in at least two months.
And I must have it.

If CTF, make sure that you determine who gets the flag. When I went, my team got cluster-fucked because they all ran for the flag.

Also, tip 11.

11.Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge.

Tips are well and good, but really there is only a few things you need to know. Paintballs don't hurt as much as they get hyped up, even getting hit in certain spots it's only going to sting a bit. Get rid of that mindset that it's going to hurt and it will make the next step happen - be aggressive and move up, preferably on the edge of the field or flanks to avoid a second lane of fire. To many games stall out and become crap shoots were both sides plink away from cover, because everyone is afraid of getting hit. You'll have a lot more fun playing aggressively and will get a lot more kills/outs than trying to hang back. And that's the goal in the end is to simply have fun.

Yeah, it does. It happened to me on the weakest part of my skull, the place between your eye and ear. Had a lump the size of an egg for 2 months.
