Can anyone recommend a "scary" game?

Its not a horror game but your first playthrough of Demon's Souls has a decent chance of being pretty damn scary. Don't look up anything about it. Just pop it in and play. Walking through the world of Demon's Souls without a clue knowing what awaits you should you die = the strongest fear I've felt for my life playing a game.

Since you have a 360 find this game and buy it. Hands down the scariest game ever.

Just the box looks really rather frightening.
I was thinking maybe dead space for the more jumpy kind frightening but that definitely takes the biscuit.

Japanese horror is all about atmosphere and this game seals the deal with it. Hell, even the description helps set the mood.

Twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura are visiting the spot where they used to play as children, which is due to be swallowed by a dam soon, when Mayu, who walks with a limp after a childhood accident, follows a mysterious crimson butterfly deep into the woods. Mio, concerned for her twin, follows, and the two girls are led to a village shrouded in fog. While it seems abandoned, the twins soon realize that the tortured souls of the dead roam, forever reliving the day of the failed ceremony that trapped them in this state.
