Can Bands With Front Women Be Metal?

Two years ago I went to the first Rock Star Energy Mayhem Fest. I will have to say that it was a predominately metal concert except I wouldn't really consider any of the singers singers considering how all they had was gutteral screams into the mics and I couldn't understand anything that they were saying. Then there was Walls of Jericho. The lead "singer" is female. All she really did during their 15 minute block of time on the side stage was chant the word fuck. It was quite annoying.

Yes there are some bands that have female leads that are metal but then there are others that should just go die in a hole.

Yes. Of course. Just as any band can be.

Nightwish, Epica, Krypteria, Within Temptation. That's four bands right there that are metal and with female lead singers.

I'll find some examples...

Nightwis and Within Temptation are debatable as just hard rock. They use the soft voice.

Bullshit. That's the worst reasoning I've ever heard, and I've never heard anyone consider those bands anything other than metal.

If you're going to classify by vocals, you're pretty much discarding the 70s heavy metal that gave birth to what you listen to today. And that forfeits your right to throw the horns. Get a a clue, metal is broader than your taste.

You honestly didn't sense the sarcasm or think that I wouldn't contradict myself in my own thread? It makes me laugh how you think you can call me on my crap by throwing some truth that we both know and then an insult into the mix without taking into consideration that I already said I don't believe in what my friend said.
