It's a sort of shooter. You shoot portals with your gun and go in and out them and complete puzzles. You do get shot at, but by cute little turrets.

It is kinda shooter based, your pointing a portal gun, that shots portals and not bullets. it isn't fast paced shooter hard, it is a brainy thing were you actualy have to think. puzzle solving game, A really really great one!

haven't seen it for the 360 but have seen it for ps3 so I 'unno

It's also in The Orange Box which has 5 or so games in it for the price of 1 (maybe 1.5), so That's a good buy too, but they're all shooters.
