I have seen many threads about what superpowers we would like to have, but in the real comic world, there is rarely a superpowered person who had the choice of what power they wanted, or if they even wanted powers in the first place.

understandably this leaves many wishing they had a normal life, or worse yet, being stuck with powers that leave them worse off than before, The Hulk and The Thing for example.

With this in mind, I ask: What superpower would you want to rid yourself of, and continue living a normal life?

You said it yourself, the power of The Thing or The Hulk. What I'd most like is Sylar or Peter Petrelli's (old) power, so yeah. As I say, the OP already said mine.

Rogue's "I can't make physical contact with people without murdering them" mutant ability.

Also: Wolverine's claws [http://www.cracked.com/video_17328_why-having-wolverines-claws-would-suck.html]. You'll understand after clicking.

Some of the powers the molochs (sp?) have in X-men are a bit useless. Looking like a gecko can't be good.

Ohhh, good thread idea.

Well, if I had to say, I'd pick Batman's ordinary powers of physical awesomeness. You know why? His parents had to DIE IN FRONT OF HIM to get him motivated to acquire them. I don't think I'd like to see the same thing happen to me if you know what I mean.

That, or electricity powers. What if you lost control at a bad moment? There goes all your MP3's!

Meep O.O Good point. I would probably say Rogue's. No physical contact would suck big time. Possibly also Sylar's ability to understand how everything works. I think it'd be fascinating, but probably ruin life for me. Nice thread.

Radiation, mind-reading, and being able to kill people with my mind. For the former, I don't want to give myself and everyone I love cancer; for the middle, I don't want to be deluged in thoughts; and for the latter, what if I lose control of it at a critical moment?

I see I'm not the only fan of Cracked. Anyways, I don't think it would be too bad to have his claws as long as you have his healing factor because your wounds would heal.

Intangibility, a la Kitty Pryde from X-men. I'd probably end up at the Earth's core before I figured out how to turn it off, and by then I'd be completely unable to climb out and faced with the exciting options of starvation or becoming one with the lava.

That was hilarious, having Wolverine's claws are complicated, I think I saw a comic where Rogue took Wolverine's claw "powers" and had to deal with the same thing that happened in the video... it wasn't so funny though.

Having metal blades arbitrarily erupting from your flesh would still be disturbing, regardless how fast the exit wounds would heal. :p

Also: yes OP, nice thread :D

For those of you that have seen the film 'Mystery Men', I would hate to have The Spleen's power.

Geek moment: Adamantium claws are not part of the mutant power Wolverine has.
/sorry.
//still funny

At the moment, I think something like Ant-man's powers would REALLY suck.
Hey, I can get really small!
And how, exactly, does that help us defeat Dr Doom?
Um...he'll burst into peals of laughter?

Probably this. Either that or the Blob. He has the power to be a fat guy.
