I know a fw few girls who can tear me apart in blackops Black Ops or L4D. I suggest u you party up and stay out of group chat or be prepared to deal with that shit and takr take it in stride

Eh my two pence is that girls can make superior gamers than males. They don't have an ego dragging along in their wake like some cavemen guys I've met in various online games and actually focus on the mission in hand, instead of:
trying to team kill you, or just wind you up by getting in your face
taking their own sweet time about it because they've obsessively played that level before
If it's a co-op they'll ignore you and treat the level as a single player game

Oh and I've noticed that guys cant stand to be beaten by a girl. it's like the ultimate humiliation or something in their little beady eyes.
Sounds to me like those guys were using humour in a VERY thin attempt to cover up their insecurities and unfounded fears.
I welcome girl gamers in co-operative games because it means I've a good chance of enjoying the game more than some guy who insists you follow HIS route online or any another other assortment of "I'm better than you. I don't know you but it doesn't matter"

Disclaimer: I know there's an exception to this rule though as each sex can have it's fill of idiots and intelligent people within. This is just my personal experience from a variety of titles on numerous systems

Might I suggest playing L4D onthe PC? The Steam crowd is *slightly* more mature and less likely to flip out over a girl in a FPS (two of my favorite people to play with are a prair of british women, they're hilarious) plus all the DLC is free =p

OT: One of my best friends is a girl, and though she often doesn't play with a mic, people mock her for being a girl on TF2.....Until she snipes them, or stabs them in the back, or sets them on fire.

as far as the answer to why? Some people are dicks. Simple enough.
