I don't like waiting either, but keep in mind that Valve is a small studio. Since Episode 2 came out around four years ago, Valve have released Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, and all that DLC for TF2, and I think we can agree that those were good games.

I am in agreement with the theory that Valve have abandoned episodic development because it still takes a lot of time and resources to make their games, and they prefer their larger projects. I expect Half Life 3 to come out in a year... or two... or when it's done, but in the end, we will probably agree that it will be a much more satisfying conclusion to the series than another five or six hour game.

I really wish people would realise that episode 3 techniclly isn't announced yet.
the only reason we know it exists is because there was a sequel hook at the end of episode 3 and that we trust valve that they wont leave us hanging in the wind.
So it was never delayed and remember that most good games need a lot of time.

Also l4d2 was released quite fast and was also released on time.There was a lot of bitching about how soon it was.

Valve fans need to make up their damn mind.

They shouldn't do another Portal (since everything wrapped up so well), L4D3 they won't do (for now at least), and TF3 won't happen for a very long time.

After DotA I would imagine that HL3/Episode 3 is next, but people really need to stop thinking about it. Likewise, people shouldn't believe its in development hell or that its being delayed over and over again. They could have only actually started work on it yesterday for all we know.

I don't care. Whether Valve makes this game or not has little impact on my life overall. If they make it, gravy, if not, then too bad. I'm not going to put much though into it right now since there is no mention of any new developments. If Valve publishes a story talking about it then hooray I'll start to care, but for now I'm just going to continue my life.

Valve don't give a shit about you, and the silly little games you play on your silly little computer. They just want your money and if they think making HL3 is the only way to get it, they'll work on it.

Think about HL3 like you think about your ex-gf: get on with your life. If she comes back to you, the better. But learn to live without her.
