i would love to see a good old vampire movie once again. i honestly miss Blade. vampires used to be one of the most bad-ass creatures of cinema...and now there destroyed by terrible 13 year old fan fiction. can we start a counter-revolution before this new crappy vampire trend gets far to worse to control?

Yeah, as long as teen girls have thier stranglehold on the gayvampire love stories, it aint happening (however, vampire diaries is based on a book written BEFORE twilight, so it is actually decent)

Edit: let me clarify, by gay vampire love stories, i mean that Edward is symbolic of a gay man, something apparently desired by a large number of teenage girls.

Essentially, all the vampires are gay, and meyer just decided to make them love a suicidal freak in order to appeal to her fan base.

I may be a teen girl, but twilight is a load of crap to me. I prefer vampires that are mean and nasty and don't sparkle. A friend of mine is horribly into it and we get into arguments over it at times. Though we have sort of agreed to disagree. She can keep her Edward McSparklepants, and I can keep my real vampires... I wholly agree with the concept of Vampires as the villain.Only problem is that if I decided to write a story about vampires doing anything it would be immediately compared to twilight and therefore would receive naught but critical bile.It's simply an issue that occurs whenever anything uses a similar concept to a well known franchise.

My question is: What happened to the concept of using mythological creatures as villains against the HUMAN protagonists?It appeals to basic urges of survival against the odds, particularly characters like professional hunters as it is a human against a superhuman, or worse.It always seems as though the protagonist is one of the , which evens out the playing fieldfar too much to be really entertaining.The idea I have noted is where SURVIVAL horror came from.

OT: A real vampire is subjective to the individual fans of any type of vampire. Vampires are simply a mythological creature and they can be anything you want them to be. I honestly don't care, I've never cared. You want to hate the sparkle, then hate the sparkle but I see no reason for a new thread on it EVERY DAMN DAY!
