or they could, you know, not have a giant ad on every page, multiple of the same ads on the same page, and a 30 second one before each video. any one of these would be enough.. don't see why I need to look at a side banner, a top banner, a picture at the bottom of the screen and a ad in the video.

no, even if it was 7 dollars a month, id rather spend that money on a monthly subscription to runescape, which blocks the ads AND gives me access to over 200 hours of extra content, with the escapist id get the same thing minus the ads.

and besides, im talking about the ads that are in the background of the page and the ones that play automatically (not in front of videos, because those dont do anything)

it's not whining, it's pure objective fact. and it is ALSO fact that if anyone provides anything for "free" with a few drawbacks, that doesnt mean that the people have the right to abuse those who didn't pay. honestly, i can't even see what i'm typing right now because of the horrible amount of lag these ads are causing. if you get a free sample of food at a store does that mean they have the right to poison it or put razors in it (not the same caliber of abuse but still the same vein)? No, they don't, and the same should apply for here on the internet. other websites that provide quality free content (with some advertisements) don't use any adverttisements that slow my computer down NEARLY as much as these ads here on the Escapist do. look, it's REALLY rude and trollish of you to go "DERP-DE-DERP! STOP WHINING SAND PAY! DEPR!" so please grow up and stop being such a douche about it.
the point im trying to make here is that i UNDERSTAND why there need to be ads, i don't want them to make ALL the ads go away, i just want them to use DIFFERENT ads, like the ones they used before because those ads didn't cause my computer to lag so mucuht that i couldnt see wha ti was typing (i really have to guess and assume i am not making any mistakes in my spelliung and grammar because i cant see what i type until 20 seconds after i type it.) so you should understand thqat just because you have a credit card and some spare cash on your hands doesnt meen you should have a lofty and elitist attitude like you have.

B) They could always use different ads, right? Im not saying "GET RID OF ALL ADS! DERP!" im saying my computer has a connection speed of 100 MBps and 3gb of RAM, there is no excuse for having ads that take up THAT much of my RAM that if affects all the rest of my computer as well.

You've got problems with your PC there, I use a 7 year old laptop with 256mgs of RAM, why do I not have issues with ads loading.

download Add Blocker plus for Mozzila Firefox, its free and blocks ALL THE ADS even those stupid ones that play before a video

3) There's a service with a specific advantage being to get rid of the ads that so annoy you.

I'm confused. I don't have any Ad-Blockers, so I'm pretty sure somethings would happen, but so far, I haven't seen a single Ad that slowed me down.

Ironically (please read rest of my post before those of you who know nothing comment my use of the word Irony) enough, GameFAQ occasionally throws those large Ads which sometimes timeout the connection.

So yeah, for me, so far, on 3 different PC's of varying quality, none of them experience hiccups with the Escapist (which is a Media heavy site), while GameFAQ's, which is a light site, will hiccup my PC's.

Can you post an example of an Ad you're getting that is giving your problems?
