So, I can't watch Game Grumps anymore. I hit my limit a year back and this week I've made my decision to stop watching altogether after they finish Paper Mario. Besides the fact that Dan is too complacent and innocent to put up with Arin's shit, he can't really play many games. And their commentary hasn't changed over the years and the jokes are really starting to wear thin. Also, this nearly killed me:
I really love TBFP, and I'm looking for funny and most importantly COMPETENT LPers, hopefully a duo that plays off each other.

Also a bit of a side-note, about three years ago I started going on 9gag, but that place has become...disturbingly dark. If anyone can recommend a site that spews memes at me so I can distract myself/procrastinate indefinitely that would also be appreciated. Basically, I'm looking forward to this message:

But I suppose I'll only see that once I uninstall Overwatch :/

I like Neebs Gaming at the moment. They are a group of animators(I think they actually had a show on this site for a while) that after making an animation satirizing LPs and their effect on gaming, decided to make a real version of the fake videos referenced in the animation, only for those videos to take off and be far more profitable than their animations ever were. They are only a little bitter about this.

I like that their channel has more variety than most LP channels and has much more editing. Their videos usually feature three or four people rather than a duo, and the have excellent chemistry with plenty of friendly bickering to keep things entertaining. The cast is also highly varied in their personalities, background, sense of humor, and gaming competence.

It's a bit different from Game Grumps because their videos are more about them experiencing the games, rather than just playing the games while talking about whatever. One of my favorite series of theirs is their ongoing Subnautica one where they actually just straight up role play as the survivor and the incompetent support employees trying to remotely walk him through how to survive and eventually be rescued

You could try Oney Plays, but I find them pretty unbearable too after a while. They're good for a laught though.

I guess my big recommendation would be Slowbeef, Diabeetus and their joint channel Retsupurae. They both date back to the text let's plays of the Something Awful forums, and Slowbeef was actually the guy who invented the video let's play back in 2006 I think. So, as you can imagine they were pretty invested in the practice of let's plays in general. As such in their joint channel, back in the time of "unregistered hypercam 2" and pointing a video camera to the tv and calling it a let's play, they used to make fun of bad LPs.

LPs in general have gotten more competent in the last few years so they've moved away from that type of content though. They also have joint LPs in the channel.

If you go to their individual channels though it's going to be just LPs. Those can range from solo LPs, just speaking to the chat, having a variety of guests, or the usual Slowbeef and Diabeetus duo.

In case you like Slowbeef and Diabeetus, I might suggest giving the Chip and Ironicus LPs a try.

I'm starting up a LP series, gonna hopefully start recording later this month with the other two guys.

I like Geek Remix, I laugh regularly at their stuff.

Thank you all. I am starting to enjoy Neebs Subnautica series. I was aware of Retsupurae, but I didn't know they actually started doing LPs. I'll give theirs a watch too.

It took you this long to stop watching them? I have not watched Game Grumps since Arin and Jon broke up. Though both are assholes either way you look at them.

I can recommend you Maximilliam_Dood. Him and his friends are known for doing the Assist Me series. A show where he does an in=depth guide for fighting games. He also does live stream on Twitch. Do note, that he's got a lot of content. Not to mention, he has two channels on YT. YoVideogames is where his buddy, Simmons, edits their livestreams in to parts, daily. The Max_Dood channel is where posts most of his fighting game content.

Woohoo! The OP liked my suggestion. I'm pretty sure that means I win. Take that everyone who ever doubted me, especially Jeremy.

Well I totally wouldn't want to advertise my own channel [https://www.youtube.com/user/Chessrook44] so I'll go ahead and mention someone else who is good at what they do and could do with more attention.

NeosForme [https://www.youtube.com/user/NeosForme], a fairly decent LPer who has been doing a fair mix of various games, including flash games, strategies, full playthroughs, Cortex Command, and games with lots and lots of explosions. Energetic, entertaining, and well worth a watch.

I like blind LPers mainly (and Arin has such a poor memory that anything he plays may as well be). I follow Lucahjin, FunkyG, and NintendoCapriSun. Used to follow Liamsixx, but sadly he hasn't produced anything new in years.

I don't know what people see in LPs that have people screaming at every occasion, with clickbait thumbnails and CAPS EVERYTIME.

Yahtzee made good LPs in Youtube, and now his streams are good (except when his girlfriend is on), but don't go from beginning to end like a regular LP.

I quite like his guy silverwings21 [https://www.youtube.com/user/silverwings21]. He doesn't do many videos, but his commentary is in annotation form, which is refreshing from all the screaming elsewhere.

Geek Remix can put out some super solid LP's and they do some weird shit you don't usually see.

Can be a bit hit and miss on very detail oriented games though.

Their reviews of video game porn with Laura Dale tend to make for good comedy as well.

My favorite streamer will always be EpicNameBro, he's just this normal chill dude who is extremely smart and knowledgeable about his niche of games (mostly souls and souls-like games, but he does do mainstream releases as well) he's quite possibly the nicest guy out there in the streaming world

They had a show here on the site? Huh, I didn't think they would have a webseries before Doraleous and Associates and BFFs.

Anyway, I second this ^. I couldn't give half a fuck about the games they play but their genuineness is what keeps me watching. They've obviously been friends for a long time and they actually do great things with their channel and influence.

I recommend ProJared. He does some reviews and comedic retro-reviews. But he also does LPs frequently. He is one of the few who doesn't overreact to horror games (in his FNAF instead of screaming when he died, he laughed out loud). But he mainly does LPs of old games (recently he did LPs of the first four Final Fantasy games)

I tend to gravitate more towards smaller, single LP'ers who don't put on an act, so I'm not sure if my preferences would be up your alley. For what it's worth, my current favorites are <a href=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC24e_8ncnLg-vptxVDNP-DA>Corey Loses and <a href=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2UMFWDhUEcOCAV1nWvsNAA>Effing Controller.

While more of a streamer than an LP'er, I highly recommend <a href=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL7DDQWP6x7wy0O6L5ZIgxg>Jerma985. I don't usually have the time to watch his streams, but the highlight reels on his channel are absolutely hilarious.

This guy gave me a business card with a QR code link to one of their videos at the last convention I was at. Never seen that before.

They're new and a bit raw, but it's kinda interesting to see a channel improve in near real-time.

ProJared's a good one too.
