who the hell goes into a fight of 5 v 1 and thinks they are going to win? unless you have a gun and know exactly how to use it, you're probably going to get your ass beat to a pulp.

1 v 1 with the average person? I'd hold my own enough to get some good hits in, i've been in a few scruffles before and while i am not tall/ripped as fuck, i can hit decently hard and tend to not be too shaken taking a direct hit to the face/stomach.

granted this also depends on the other person, are they one of those people that bites and nut shots every chance they get, or are they going straight up?

i'm not a biter/nut shotter, but if it was more than 1 v 1 i'd be tempted to pull some of those cheap shots.

so overall, i wouldn't ever bet on myself doing amazing, as in winning, but i'd definitely take a hit knowing that i was about to land a huge blow of my own, it's happened before and worked alright so as long as i'm able to walk away knowing i got a few good blows in, i'm satisfied.

captcha: no way

thanks captcha, good pep talk

Well, I don't think I'd stand a chance. Don't take me wrong, I'm actually quite strong, train regulary, but I've pretty much never been in a fight. I'd just throw out punches and just hope for the best, and problaby just fail miserably.

Against five guys? The only victory here would be in getting the heck out of there before they could lay a hand on me. Against one? It depends. Are we talking a bar fight, or what? Because I might be able to fend off some drunk asshole, especially if he's drunker than me. An actual criminal would kick my ass, though. I think it was John Cheese who said something to the effect that "yes, there are people who are honestly good at fighting, because they get lots of practice. They're called criminals, and they will kick your ass."

I would carry a knife, and pepper spray, or a pepper spray pistol. Maybe a 9mm, or 45 acp pistol if it was in the bad parts of the city, and its at night. If I was surrounded by 5 guys I would charge 2 guys, but I would be in the end screw.

I'd like to think so, but I honestly don't know. I've not been in many fights (and no really serious ones), and I'd like to keep it that way if possible.
How very Rincewind of you.
OT: PAHAHAHAHAH I would head for the hills. If someone is attacking me, that means that they're confident enough to take me.
So yeah. My family motto is pretty much "He who flees and runs away, lives to laugh another day"

I've been in two situations where I've had to defend myself or face physical consequences I would not particularly enjoy. In one of those situations, I defended myself so well that I feel guilty about it to this day. They probably weren't permanently hurt, so it could have been worse, but that doesn't mean I'm proud of myself.

So yeah, I guess I can, but I wouldn't say I'm happy to know the extent I'll go if I allow myself.

I can hold my own in any fight by use of 2 or more distinctive fighting styles, the first is martial arts, I have a mixed background with both Karate and Tae Kwon Do, the other is the good ol' bar room brawl style, which you learn fast during sports season whilst working in a sports bar.

In all seriousness against a group I'd be fucked and the best tactic for me when things get violent is to not wade in, because if a 6'5'' guy who's built like a barn came barrelling over to break up the fight, I'd likely get a glass to the face, because y'know it's kind of a threatening action and my presence automatically ups peoples threat levels.

Although it does lead to some amusing back downs;
"You're not that big, I bet that bar area is raised."
"Ok your call budddy." *steps from behind the bar*
"Oh... erm.... eh hehehe... I was only kidding..."

Although the best self defence secret I've found although this only applies at work is simple, just tell them; "If any of you are causing trouble, you're all barred. No exceptions." It forces the dick heads to police themselves.

I have some crafted weapons that I usually carry about one of whenever I'm out, Metsubushi and such, so I'd say one on one I would have a good chance

With my height, size and ever approachable appearance I don't think I'd be in this situation, but should I need to defend myself, I should be okay, I've done boxing, Tae Kwon Do, and a little bit of wrestling.

If I'm outnumbered I'd probably try and defuse the situation verbally.

I can run faster than most people. That counts right?

I'm pretty slippery and good pin down most people I reckon. I do Judo but I pretty much suck at it and I guess in real fights people punch you? Doesn't sound so fun. I'd like to be ueber pacifist if possible, but I don't know if I have the mental will for that.

I'm first dan in Judo, green belt in ju-jitsu, I've had several forms of weapons training and own a multitude of lethal and non-lethal weapons. If the need arises I'm sure I can defend myself to some degree.

Defend myself, Well past experience tells me I can but simple common sense tells me its stupid to get into a fight no matter how much fun you have. Not that I go round starting fights I strongly believe starting fights is wrong, but I do enjoy fighting so if someone else starts it I tend to be pretty nasty which is funny because I'm kinda small an they never see it coming :)

As stupid as it sounds the rule of 3 has saved my arse many times, The rule goes as this: if faced with 2 attackers put the first one between you and the second one, if faced with 3 or more always keep 2 between you and the rest of them. the more they have to struggle around each other the more time you have to beat on them.

But honestly no matter how good you are just getting to walk away is always a win, anything can happen in a fight. Hell you might trip and hit your head on the curb, then die later as your brain aneurysms, they guy never touched you but you is dead anyways.

Every fight you engage in is a gamble with your life, thus the less fights you get in the less chance you have of getting killed or crippled. fighting well is good but fighting less is better.

I'm well versed in the use of Flash and Exhaust on the opposing ADC so if that doesn't work I usually use my Ult as Alistair and Kayle. If that doesn't work well I was just ganked and not much I can do.

I'd like to think so, but in reality, probably not. I've never been in a fight before. The closest thing was the one time I punched a guy in the stomach. He didn't punch back though. He felt he deserved the blow.

No idea. Probably not, I'm not athletic and I've never had any experience in fighting whatsoever, but I'm the type who might be able to win by thinking outside the box. Maybe by using something in my environment to put my attacker at a disadvantage, or something.

If it had to be a straight-up fight, I'd aim for the crotch assuming the attacker is a man. It's all I'd really have, so I wouldn't feel guilty.

Former military, so yes I am pretty confident in my abilities. And I own a lot of guns. More importantly...I have a lot of common sense.
