Unless my whole attempt to escape is a delusion and I really AM crazy, then I would just have a talk with the guards and prove I'm A OK. If they don't listen to those types then maybe I'm stuck for good.

i would say: hey do an IQ test, that will prove my sanity! or let me be in close observation for 2 months, outside of this institute, and see for yourself!
if that fails, i'll say: Hey look there! it's a flying banana! and then flee when they look

Well, I would act as I would ask for an interview of sorts to see if I am insane or something. If not then me acting normal for a week or so will convince them.

Well, theoretically I could prove my sanity, but wheres the fun in that? I'd rather ask for what they think I have, then completely show none of the symptoms. Then start exibiting different symptoms for something else, rinse and repeat.

why fight it? you get somewhere to live for free, and 3 meals a day. the medication may get annoying, but i'd adapt. maybe i'd just skip them and then sit around doing nothing all day, what a carefree life that would be

I would prove my sanity by telling them to join in on a round of D&D, no (in)sane person is able to play that for longer than 4 hours, thus I would prove that we all are (in)sane!

Scenario: You wake up and you're not where you usually are when you wake up. Instead you're in a psychiatric institution as a patient under a different name other than your own. You still have all your memories and knowledge of your life up to this point, and in your mind you're still sane. However, the belief in your own mind won't be enough to save you from this weird scenario, you have to convince one of the doctors of your sanity.

What can you think of to undoubtedly prove your sanity?

Note that rambling on about your "real" life won't be enough. You may well have been in work yesterday, but screaming "Call my boss! here's his number..." won't help, the point is to prove your sanity to the doctor, because until you do, he won't willingly help someone believes to be insane.

i would try to stay calm until i can talk to an actual doctor. though i get bored fast.

id flush as much info out of the doctors as possible with rhetorical in seemingly unrelated and unobvious questions about myself (who they think I am), im good at doing that sorta thing, Then claim I cant remember the rest of my life other than my bare essentials.

Then just act normal as possible until they release me (if im honest about "Memory loss" they may help me on my way....uknow just in case my life turned out to be a lie.)


The best thing to do in not panic, just roll with what?s going on an adapt and access the situation. im insane enough to do that kinda thing. XD

I would explain to the doctor that there is no such thing as "sanity" and that we are all both sane and insane at the same time. That all of this is simply an illusion constructed by the great overworld consciousness, and that the doctor's attempts to categorize me and all other humans are as futile as preventing the imminent dissonance of reality. Then I would phase-shift out of the hospital, and onto a tropical beach somewhere out in the Caribbean with a bikini-clad Jessica Alba suntanning beside me. ...Or maybe the happy pills are starting to take effect.. Either way, it's win-win.

Say "I am insane" because then they'll realise you are sane enough to realise you are insane so they'll have to let you go... Yup, thats the perfect solution.
