Well, first off, if you liked Alan Wake, then I recommend Alan Wake's American Nightmare as well. Gameplay's largely the same, the tone is a bit different though. It's made to feel like one of those "Night Springs" mystery show episodes you find on the TV's in the first game. It's kind of a continuation from the first game's story and features Poets Of The Fall as the Old Gods Of Asgard.
Then there's of course Mass Effect if you're into that - the gameplay handles a bit like a 3rd person shooter in combat and has loads and loads of great characters, an awesome soundtrack and great writing from the start. Sadly, that doesn't last until the end, but even though I'm one of those who didn't like the ending, to me the game is still worth replaying over and over again - fifteen minutes of bad writing won't spoil the whole thing for me.
If you played Dragon Age: Origins, I'd recommend Dragon Age II as wel. I know there's plenty of people around here who will tell you not to, but the game really has grown on me, and in some ways I even find it superior to Origins. Read a few reviews, though, since you might well have the same issues with the game as all the others out there...
At the moment I'm having a hoot and a half with Sleeping Dogs, which I picked up after Gavin Dunne flooded his twitter account with messages about how awesome it supposedly - an undercover cop story set in Hongkong that features fluid, intuitive hand-to-hand combat and, to a lesser extent, gunplay (which I couldn't warm up to, but so far I did only need to pick up a gun on three or four occasions), a driving mechanic reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto, several minigames for hacking, lockbreaking, karaoke and collectibles all over the beautifully designed sandbox city. As for vehicle sections you got races, the occasional car chase and, indeed, car theft and can choose from a variety of bikes, cars and boats. As I said, I'm just barely into the main story and it's already a lot of fun.
