As far as I'm concerned, every colour that exists has already existed since colour has. Therefore, all colours were made way before we were. Ergo, (hey Yahtzee I know latin too!) no one can copyright colours because in order to copyright something you must have invented said something. And the UPS is neither God nor some form of space alien that heralded the beginning of the universe.

Or are they?

If you can get colours, then why not numbers?

If so, I call n and x

And by that, I mean I'm patenting the two symbols which means 'any or every number'

I own all numbers! =P

Yeah, it's not that they're trademarking a color, but you know when you see that damn brown truck "Holy shit, it's UPS!" Just like FedEX with its Purple/Orange, DHL with its piss yellow and red, etc etc. They're just trademarking their slogan "What can Brown do for you?" That's all.

And well, I'll trademark all the colors in the color spectrum. Including tertiary and analogous colors. Yeah that's right, ROYGBIV, mother effers.

In the UK Royal Mail owns the shade of red the post boxes and vans are painted.

If we can copyright colours then I don't see why I couldn't copyright Radio waves or X Rays as they're just the same as colour.

This is SPARTA!

(Sparta is a kind of redish color named after a kind of a redish color of ants, called Spartains that 300 stole to make it's title on posters. Thousands of Spartains died making those posters >_<)

Dibs on purple!
I'm wearing a purple hoodie now so purple is officially mine!

EDIT:

I would say "Dibs on Black," but I'm pretty sure someone tried that already, and then we had the Civil War.

Anyway, I like purple.
But mostly black.
No one's said black yet, black is yours.
But only because I want purple!

It's octarine, the eighth color only seeable by wizards (and I think cats... it would explain a lot). Created by Terry Pratchett for use in his sexy-awesome Discworld series.
I'll take my cookie now.

I call dibs on the specific hex color #00CC00.
