Hmm... Canada... ice, snowy tundra and pine forests. People sound American, and yes... hmm

Don't know, i've never been keen or interested in the english speaking commonwealth nations for some reason, and i really don't know why ??

Apologies if that has offended anyone

It's funny how many people actually think it's cold here. It gets cold in the winter, but it's not like the whole country is frozen over...just the arctic.

I don't know if this is on topic but I was on holiday in Amsterdam a couple of months ago and got talking to a guy from Alberta Canada and a few people from Philadelphia. All I can say is they all got on extremly well and were very friendly.

You know, I personally always laugh when I hear that song. I seriously think it is a nice praise to Canada, one of the few countries that crosses the artic circle like Finland does...

Canada is also one of the few things in American continent that I can respect instead of being just indifferent to.

Alberta is like the Canadian Texas, they dislike gays and are rich with oil (Alberta actually has more oil than Saudi Arabia, but it is in the form of Tar).
Nooo...you're just thinking about Calgary....*ducks and runs*
Hehehee....
Edmonton is a lovely artistic community, with a really, really multicultural population. (I just spent my entire weekend at the dragon boat festival here!)
Besides...we have BioWare.
WIN!

Unless you speak French, don't EVER move to Quebec, their government (less so now with Charest) actively tries to make the province 100% unilingual Francophones.
I've been hoping to not see this. Actually, pretty much only the Bloc Québécois and the Parti Québécois tries to make it french dominant.

The liberals are pretty much the people pleaser between Canada and Quebec

If you go to Montreal or some towns near Ontario, you'll meet more bilingual towns (Montreal is one the most cultural cities in Canada anyway. You'll meet more diverse folks than a full Quebecois. You can even live with only a little knowledge of french in Montreal).

If you're english, you'll only try to skip Quebec City and a few rural towns. God, those places are judgemental sometimes.
Yeah, I wasn't bashing Quebec (not that you said I was, but I've inferred it from 'I've been hoping to not see this'). There's nothing wrong wiith French Canadians or the Quebecois, but if people don't call bigotry bigotry, then it persists.

The BQ and the PQ are French supremicist parties, period. Charest is a liberal, but he's still the head of a province with draconian language laws and biased courts, he's tolerating intolerance, albeit it's likely not his choice.

Language is a topic Canadians need to be able to talk about as much as Americans need to talk about race, sweeping it under the rug helps nobody. This hasn't devolved into a flamewar, so let's not stifle it before it does.

Canada is a beautiful country and is why I have several cousins there.

Does not compute... Are you saying you have cousins as a direct result of Canada's natural beauty?

Canada seems to be pretty cool, its what America used to be... You know before it changed.
No, Im saying I have cousins in canada because they loved it so much they moved there :p
Ohh good, cause, what I was thinking didn't make sense... "Phwarr... look at them mountains and ... trees and junk. Lets have sex, eh?"

Yea, we'll blame you for that musical monstrosity.
And Celine Dion
And Bryan Adams... Please don't forget about Bryan Adams...
The Canadian government has apologised for Brian Adams on several occasions (cookie for ref).

All I know is, Cancer Bats are canadian, and they are fucking epic. Whistler is fucking epic for downhill Mountain biking. I like both these things very much. Thus, for me, Canada=fucking epic.

What's always confused me, is curling. Why is curling our national sport, why not hockey? I guarentee less people get exited about curling than hockey, and many canadians(like me) only have a vague idea of how to play curling.

Canada is 10 times better then the USA
Really? what's 10 times 0 hahahahaHAHAHA sorry

I'm a proud Canadian but there are lots of things that we need to work on. Our health care is good but it doesn't even come close to the European models. Something needs to be done to soothe Quebec separatism and we all know about the troubles that exist in Aboriginal communities. But last time I checked, we were known as the nicest people on the planet so that should count for something.

more things I'm proud of: multiculturalism, tolerance, geography (any Canadian who hasn't been from coast to coast should go).

Brian Adams lol. He wasn't so bad. It's been a very long time since I heard any of his songs but it wasnt offensively bad like Nickelback or something. I remember the robin hood song it was cute

The worst canadian song is "Life is a highway" I don't know who sings it but I hate it
