Burnaby, BC, Canada. January 1, 2010 -- Interdimensional Games Inc (iDGi) announces an Alternate Reality Game (ARG), through which a new video game Intellectual Property will be announced. Through the ARG, iDGi has discovered how to export human consciousness into an entirely different dimension. Company officials claim that a proprietary invention accessible from their website http://interdimensionalgames.com, will, starting today, January 1st, 2010, be capable of allowing anyone to travel interdimensionally.

"We invented this gateway to help our efforts in crafting a compelling interactive experience," says iDGi Founder Vidal Desertch. "We never intended to make this tool available to the public, but after realizing its awesome potential...well, we simply couldn't keep it a secret any longer." Vidal makes it clear that the technology is limited, and it's not entirely certain where - or when - your consciousness may end up once it crosses the dimensional threshold, or what form it may end up becoming.

"This technology is made possible from our satellite 'iDGi-1', which we have positioned very close to the moon's orbit. When the moon eclipses the sun, casting the earth in shadow, in that precise moment, interdimensional travel is possible."

The company is also launching a public forum and a blog, entitled "Culture and Philosophy", through which the iDGi team will begin sharing views and opinions, as well as information about the new, as yet unannounced, video game IP.

Wow, its a press release on hallucinogenics.

Really, iDGi, really? And it only works during eclipses?

I know what they've been doing.

They've been sitting on their arses doing nothing, then they come up with an excuse for it only to 'work' once every eclipse. They've been pretending to work and getting paid for nothing.

Okay, so I went to the website, took a look around and immediately thought, "Okay, these guys are loonies".

Then the moon moved in front of the sun, the Earth went weird and I clicked on it.

I am starting to believe this is viral marketing...
------
So I sorted through that puzzle and the entire website was just sucked into a wormhole of some sort, I was greeted with an in-flash prompt saying "Hello there, seeker" and now I'm on an in-flash computer.

This is definitely viral marketing for something...

OK, I'm at the bit where you need a password. The clue is: "A House.. One enters it blind, one leaves it seeing?".

That bit is basically a jigsaw puzzle. Just try each bit in each box, you'll get it eventually.

I'm not sure what to make of the clue, but I am interested in that flashing date. Further clue, possibly?

*EDIT* Down at the bottom, in place of the Start button there is an End button. Not sure if it does anything though, other than confuse me further.

I tried it, no luck, it just brings you back to the start. I think the flashing date might be for later.

Ah, but if you press Cancel, it opens up a brief dialogue with the mysterious entity. Which pretty much ends with the question "Who am I?" and leaves me wondering, "...what?"

Meanwhile, I have the password. Just needed to search a bit more.

What was it? Did it work?
Yes it worked.

The hint is, apparently, "a riddle found on tablets dated from the 16th century B.C. from the site of Ur." Search for the riddle itself, and you'll have the password.

Meanwhile, I'm looking through information on the next couple of decades (or so), and am on the lookout for at least two major milestones.

I do have a question though: 2028-03-01. Would that be March 1st, or is it January 3rd?

I have an idea what this is all for:

AMEN: The Awakening. [http://www.tauniverse.com/cavedog/amen/] Or at least something similar.

I noticed a little entry in this time line regarding an SAS commando codenamed "Rook 1". The protagonist of AMEN is, surprise surprise, an SAS commando codenamed Bishop 6. Wait, what was that project on the main page called? Project B6?

Well, clicking on that takes you an equally screwy web page which, every now and again, pops up the chess symbol for a bishop.

Finally, the apparent CEO of Interdimensional Games inc. is Gregory MacMartin. Who owns the rights to the story of AMEN: The Awakening.
------
One other thing: Mr. MacMartin's YouTube name is drschelter.

The OP's user name must be a complete coincidence, eh? ;)

I feel as if this is the only real way to add to the discussion of this topic.
Well it's either that or start complaining about the fact this is advertising...or something.
