Jesus whats is it with the lemmings going on about overpopulation in this thread It's a
non-issue it's so far away from being a problem it's not even funny fertitlity rates in the western world have been dropping quite rapidly for a good while to the point where population numbers are falling

the places where population are rising is in undeveloped regions which are going through the same phase the western world did a 100 years ago when every family had 6 or 7 kids but a good portion survived due to advances in medical technology which caused a massive population boom

interestingly enough you find people have less children once the death rate starts to decrease because looking after 6 kids is hard work also as technology moves on children become even less viable because work that would have been done by small children gets dome by machine throw in child labor laws and this becomes doubly so which leads to people having less kids which leads to a lower population overall

People living longer is also a non-issue that just means that overall people wail longer to have children not that they have more children this can be seen in places like japan where they have too many people at retirement age and not enough young workers with in off its self is a symptom off having a sudden jump in population followed people having less children

Of course this is not 100% true as can be seen with china where the government had to put out incentives for people to have less children but that's more the exception rather than the rule and is more due to culture rather than human nature

all this is the reason low end estimates For the worlds population in the near future are back under 7 billion

problem Genocide Fags ?

anyway if I found the cure to cancer I would sit back watch the money role in maybe start a games development company and make games for my enjoyment Safe in the knowledge that i would be remembered as one of many great people in history bad grammar and all

With humans now extinct, the Earth would begin the slow arduous process of rebuilding itself.

My god... Am I really that misanthropic?

Um... cure the common cold? That should be a fun one considering it mutates so fast that finding a single widespread cure is really, really damn difficult.

I'd keep it to myself so the government didn't kidnap me and put a bullet in my brain for curing a disease that brings in billions in revenue to hospitals and pharmacies every year.

The answer would have to be: make sure that motha goes into and stays in the public domain. Some drug company finds the absolute cure for cancer, you know they're going to be demanding chemotherapy patients give up their firstborn child for it.

Well when we find a cure for cancer, it makes it all the more easy to create a cancer bio-weapon! Provided...you know, that the cure does something to stop replication, like screwing with spindle fibers or the like.

Now i'm going to create a weaponized cancer, it will be made to spread....spread like soft butter over the corpses of my foes! Conventional cures will be all but useless against this... mega-cancer... And thus the only way to save the world will be MY CURE!!

THEN I SHALL TAKE OVER THE WORLD! HA HA HA HA!

(And mega-cancer? Is that really the best i can come up with right now?)

After that?...I'm going to Disney World!!!

Add: I'm also seeing a lot of "cure religion", wouldn't it be better (if we could bend human mentality) to just cure hatred and intolerance so that people can get along despite religion?
