And for gods sake if you're starving in the freezing cold about hmm 5 miles above sea level on a mountain side, animal instinct will kick in real quick I'm assuming so... don't knock it till you've tried it?

Yes. I've heard it's similar to beef.

Though I have also heard it is monstrously difficult to cook.

Im pretty sure this thread has been done before. But I would most certainly be a cannibal for survival. I also read these journals of people killing and eating people for pleasure (for the most part sexual), it really got me thinking.

no i wouldn't

i might use their bodies to attempt luring a polar bear.
that i will then kill with something sharp (probably not)
and eat him.
there are no polar bears there.

yea, i would eat a dead human if i had to survive.

I honestly have no idea. 4 days into starving, freezing and all-around kinda dying I might. But here and now when I'm full and happy it's hard to imagine it happening.
Actually, probably not with me, considering I have low blood sugar and would probably just pass out after a day. XD

I can't predict what I would do in a survival situation, since the part of the brain that inhibits cannibalism is the first part to die in situations of extreme starvation. I am a vegetarian, though, so it would be hard for me to eat the flesh of any animal, never mind another person, but I'm not superstitious or anything so I don't really think there's anything particularly immoral about eating someone who's already dead if my life depended on it compared to eating any other dead animal.

*shrug*

Instinct is a powerful thing. If you're not prepared to do what it takes to survive, then that answers what's going to happen to you, I guess.

Well I used to eat KFC a lot back in uni, that was pretty close to cannibalism already, wasn't it?

I think eating someone steps a toe out of the boundaries of morality for me. I'd either let them eat me if they agreed to and desperately wanted to survive, or I'd ask the others to kill me if I was begginning to desire their flesh.

I think I'd just find myself a gun and allow the other people to cannibalize me first...

Do I have to have a reason? Also, even though the fat ones are tempting... fat is really really chewy.

well... its like -40 degrees... and you have like chocolate and wine to survive
What's wrong with chocolate and wine?
You'd be pretty well off if you had wine to survive on. You just have to fetch the scones from the expensive picnic hamper instead of eating people.
