Ivaan finished up his journal entry and sighed. Snakes. I hate snakes. Snakes and necromancers.
Ivaan put on a pair of trousers and wrapped a cloak around himself before packing his journal into his bag.
Ivaan took a moment to refresh the dressings on his leg with the materials in his bag.
"O-ok, one moment please while I make up the antidote. What breed was it again?"
After hearing the reply Ivaan nodded and took out his alchemy kit, taking various chemicals and herb and crushing them into a paste with a mortar and pestle. Hopefully we shouldn't need it, but better safe than sorry. Ivaan took some water and mixed it with the chemicals, turning it into a brew that he quickly poured into a couple of small porcelain bottles.

Standing up, antidotes in hand, Ivaan walked over to Rias and the guards.
Ivaan turned to Rias, crouching down and nudging her; "Could you, umm, give me a hand with this? you've probably got the... skills suited to catching a snake. I'll be honest, they give me the willies."

Ivaan asked for someone to give him a second opinion on his leg the previous evening, will they be there soon?

"Sure, Figured I was gonna get asked anyway." Rias replied before walking back over to her belongings and pulled the lid off a jar she found in the bath room after heating the tub. The red mist flowed out and then formed a partition so the boys couldn't watch her getting dressed. The partition soon came down to the sight of Rias adjusting her gloves, and the more interesting (or freaky) sight of the same red mist braiding her hair. "Kay, Ready" she said as the braid fell to her back with a red 'crystal' ring on the end of the braid holding it together.

Ivaan stared for a moment, before shaking his head, chuckling.
Everyone's getting stronger. Ivaan thought as his stomach growled.
"I'm going to need some food first, Rias. Did you see any good places on the way in?" Ivaan turned to the guards, "Could we get some breakfast first? We have time, right?" he asked, I doubt the snake's going to be going anywhere if it hasn't already.

"It's time to wake up, sleepy head." a voice said, drawing Claire from her sleep. She mostly ignored it, rolling over and trying to remain asleep. The bed was comfortable and she was tired, so she didn't really want to rejoin the world yet. None-the-less, she couldn't ignore it forever and the kiss/shaking had forced her into consciousness. After a few seconds, she resigned and opened her eyes to the sight of William standing over her. Though she didn't want to be awake, it was at least a small consolation that the events of the night prior hadn't been a dream.

Sitting up while keeping herself covered and rubbing the sleep from her eyes he said with a groan "Good morning William. Sleep well?", a smile on her face. Eventually he would get used to this.

"Wasn't looking, was more interested in getting a bath and finding a place to sleep, that, and getting away from the crowd" Rias replied with a shrug, as Karen gave up on going back to sleep and got up and started getting dressed.

William shook Claire once more, and slowly she began to open her eyes. She then sat up straight, using the sheet to cover herself as she was smiling at him. She then asked "Good morning William...Sleep well?" He smiled in response and kissed her cheek. "I slept very well Claire, and I am sure you played a big part in that." He then looked at the door and then back at Claire. "I will give you some time to get dressed now, I will see you again downstairs." Before she could respond he got up and headed out the door, wearing his usual armor and weapons on him. He walked down the stairs, he suddenly felt a cold chill as he remembered his nightmare.

He clenched his hand turning it into a fist, as he swore to himself that he would never fall that deep ever again. Still the nightmare had reminded him that he would need to write and send a letter home today. He then continued on his path down the stairs and heard 'well most of the remaining food ...should be back with food.' William looked around the corner his curiosity peeked. He walked over to the guards and his party members, as he heard Rias say "Ludicrously..I suppose." He looked at them and then asked ,"Would anyone mind telling me what you are planning to do?" He sounded curious.

Rias turned toward William, for a brief second a look of annoyance crossed her face "Snake, same one that killed whats her face, you know the charming lady Karen and I picked the wilds over putting up with, it's apparently rather cozy where it is, and Ivaan and I are going to encourage it to relocate." she said with out stopping.

Bom weighed up the few words he managed to hear from his hiding spot.

"Fishermen? Deadly snakes?"

He doubted any of these had any connection to his night of revelry, or indeed, any of his past misdemeanours. He stepped out from the corner, giving the inn keeper a confident nod. He saw that the fellow had lost interest and was preoccupied with whatever it was inn keepers did with their time. He swaggered over to join the conversation, but not being able to provide valuable input, he kept quiet for the moment and watched.

As William left, she slowly slid out of bed and began to dress, a bit lost in her thoughts. As she went over the events of the day before, the frustration and stress of the mission began to settle in. Little of their mission had turned out well - from the death of their companion Fromanzio to their failings at gathering any information on what the mages were up to and the loss of the magic item that was sustaining Abumot. All she could do was put the thoughts from her mind and move forward. Hopefully, none of it would come back to bite them.

She shook her head free of the aberrant thoughts and finished dressing in her traveling clothes. She quickly reminded herself that at least some good would come from the mission - they would get the proof she would need to bring down a traitor to Embla. She stood from the bed - still sore from the weeks of travel - and walked out the door to find William and the others.

Captcha was "melody pond"... now I'm wondering how the Escapist knew I was a Doctor Who fan...

Grunting, Reetch opened his eyes blearily. The sound of talking was filling the room, looking up he could see the shape of Ivaan in the doorway conversing with someone outside, and what sounded like a couple of the others too. He climbed down from his makeshift nest and went to see what the commotion was. Something about fish? or was it snakes? Reetch's head wasn't in full working order yet, as well as that he had to find somewhere for his morning's usual ritual soon.

He poked his head around Ivaan's body, looking up at the guard who was talking with the others.

Oh no...it's not about last night is it? He suddenly thought. Not that business with the Hansav again! He slid back a bit, trying to get out of sight and avoid any questions.

Ivaan hitched up his bag, took his crutch from beside the door and made ready to leave with the guards and Rias. He saw Reetch poke his head around him to look at the guards, before shuffling back again and trying to be inconspicuous.
Preferring not to to draw attention to a friend that obviously didn't want it, Ivaan simply nodded to Reetch, smiling, and said "Well, I suppose we should be off" to the room in general, and went to walk out with Rias.
Catching sight of Bom, Ivaan greeted him with "Oh, hello, are you coming along to deal with the snake problem?" He bustled along, his crutch creaking now and again. "W-we're getting some breakfast first, I think." He said, his speech faltering a little as he accidentally put some weight on his leg. The muscle was healing, but it was very tender.

'Like I said until the fishermen come back we are kinda out of food, but we only really require the antidote we can handle the rest but if you volunteer to take care of the snake non of us will complain' The guard said light heartedly.

"Oh, hello, are you coming along to deal with the snake problem?" said Ivaan.

"Oh, yes! The snake problem," nodded Bom. He was keen to keep that the central topic of discussion. "Absolutely. Yes."

He wanted to ask why the guards hadn't killed it themselves, seeing as it was their job and all, but he was anxious for them to leave, preferably without bringing up the subject of his crapulant antics. It was a hole in his memory he didn't want filling.

"Speaking of antidotes, Ivaan, can you recommend anything for my head? It appears to have gone numb."

His vision was still tunnelling from the massive hangover. It was like looking at the world through a pair of soggy, grey toilet roll tubes. On second thoughts, he wasn't feeling ready to kill anything today.

Rias looked at the guard, annoyed now "If you just needed an antidote why didn't you say so in the first place." Rias then turned and went back to thier room to make ready to leave.

Ivaan raised an eyebrow and handed the two bottles to the guards.
"Really? Oh, in that case: It's to be drunk within ten minutes of the bite. If you have the whole bottle you'll still feel awful, but you won't die."
Ivaan smiled to bom and went back into his room, "Have a fun night?" He asked, when the guards were safely out of earshot.
He fished a bag of bark cuttings from his bag. "Where is that... Oh, here we are. this'll deal with the headache and the stomach. Drink plenty of fluids and you'll be fine."

The guards took the anditode 'thank you very much' one of them said just before they left, just after they left the inn keeper said 'I must ask you, why did you guys come to this neck of the woods?' he said sounding sincerely confused.

Rias turned to him, she seemed a bit annoyed as she responded to his question with "Snake...and Ivaan and I are going to encourage it to relocate." The snake is still alive? Its really a wonder they have survived so far, if they can't even kill a snake. Ivaan then joined the conversation, he seemed to want to eat. The guard however told them it wasn't possible, and reminded them while they only needed the antidote killing the snake would be help.

Rias seemed to lose interest, and after Ivaan gave them the antidote things seemed to be about done. The inn keeper asked them a question, but he chose to ignore it. He turned back to Claire, and smiled at her. "How would you feel about a stroll through the city?" He asked her, while putting his arm out. They finally got some time off, and he intended to use it to get to know Claire better. And he still had to send the letter, so he would just walk with her to his shop here.

Bom ignored Ivaan's question and groaned a quiet thank you for Ivaan's remedy. Then he saw what it was.

"Tree wood? what is this supposed to- ow!"

It was too painful to argue about it. Bom quietly ate the tree bark.

"I've had more than my fair share of water recently," he grumbled.

Still not ready to brave a bit too much action, Bom wanted to take a different trip.

"How would you feel about a stroll through the city?" said William.

Bom overheard, and enthusiastically stepped forward before Claire could answer.

"I'd be delighted to come along!" he said, nodding in appreciation. "I could do with the fresh air."
