Okay, hi everyone. I'm kind of hoping this thread will develop into an entertaining conversation I can use to entertain myself until I can barely keep my eyes open.

Just let fire with anything random you have on your mind, from aardvarks to zerba cakes and beyond.

I'll start...

So I was awake the other day and I was thinking kind of randomly about some 2 AM thoughts I've had before. These are the weird ass thoughts you get when you're tired/drunk/both. I don't drink though. But I digress. I was thinking about pop-tarts of all things. Yes, that's right. Pop Tarts.

Something you might not know about them: They taste really good at 2 AM.

Another little fact: They taste horrible 3 days *after* you open them, even if it is 2 AM.

So, anyone have any thoughts like this? Just random stuff?

Edit: Might get sleep after all, but still wanna hear your random thoughts.

I haven't had a Pop Tart in years. Mostly because I found the magic of Toaster Strudel.

Also, you're doing it right, just stay up until you get tired. The best sleep you get is when you're already about to collapse. It may not last long after you wake up, but damned if it doesn't feel good.

i always just turned on the TV or read a good book until i got tired, i think being on the computer will only prolong your sleep problem.

I've discovered the secret to sleeping. Watch Dragon Ball Z. I'm serious watch it at night and you'll find it hard to make it through about half of the show. EDIT: Episode, rather.

As for something random, umm.... here's the last video I watched on Youtube.

I feel that when I was a child I committed a terrible action. Everyone ignores it and pretends that it never happened since it would destroy me if i knew what horrible things I have done so everything I do is set up and predetermined so I never find out.
That's why I experience random feelings of guilt at odd times.
Hmmmm... I think I just came up with a cool idea for a movie.

Pfft, it's 5:30am here. I've had like four hours sleep if that in the past 40(?) hours. Man up and watch some ponies!

wank off the chemicals released will help you sleep.

I'm actually being serious there are studies that back it up

Never works for me, in fact the opposite seems to apply.

If one were to fall down a bottomless pit, would you eventually turn into a fireball from the force of the velocity?
Nope. Terminal velocity is a real thing.

Well, I changed the term "velocity" since I'm not clear enough on what it actually means to use it. :/

It means speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out.
No it doesn't, that's just a Portal quote.

Basically there comes a point in free-fall where you just don't go any faster. obviously this is dependant on many factors that i don't know myself but if you're really interested, let me Google that for you [http://lmgtfy.com/?q=explanation+of+terminal+velocity]...

I've been having the same problem lately. I just can't seem to fall asleep some nights.

But not tonight. I was actually about to go to bed. Hurray for small miracles!

No, because you hit terminal velocity, which means that there's enough air resistance where you stop accelerating. Terminal velocity tends to be around 120 mph.

RED EYE?!

That's the show that taught me about GWAR.

I did eventually fall asleep. Took several hours.

Just pick up a book and read. Don't play music, or video games, or watch TV. All of those will just stimulate your mind and make you more awake. Books are one of the most highly recommended before bed activities :3

Glad I got my kindle :3

I was hoping my girlfriend would text me and we'd get to do something, but that all went down the drain when she got tired and started feeling sick. Ah, well, story of my life.

Attempt trying to fall asleep in Kyoto at present. Its midnight here and its still hot and humid as hell, even the air conditioner is demanding a break.
