Yeah I don't know if this belongs in the advice forums or the gaming forums so if a mod could move it to the right place it would be appreciated.

Anyway, I will be unable to play any games within the next two weeks due to complicated reasons (I'd rather not explain) and was wondering what I could do to pass the time, so I ask you escapistsa to give me suggestions on what to do please.

I don't have that many hobbies other then gaming so this is why it's so hard.

Well, if we don't know why you can't play games for the next two weeks, it''l be difficult to suggest an appropriate alternative.

Is it physical, family related, work related, what?

Read, man. Perfect opportunity to experience some of the classics.
Never been much for reading but there are a few books laying around where I live. I might check them out.

Family related but it's something I'd rather not discuss with strangers on the internet...

Then I would suggest just doing whatever the hell you can to take your mind off of things.

Maybe just tire yourself out and sleep through the misery, that's what I always do.

depending on where you are and what games you like this may or may not be a good suggestion but i love this book, its a gaming book you level up, gain loot, quest etc old school style.

Or look into any gaming books really, all ya need is a pen some paper a couple dice and your off :)

Use the time to focus on any work that needs to be done, such as studies or anything else along those lines that you could be getting out of the way for the time you can play games again.

Watch something. Anime, films, maybe get into a TV series.

Personally i love reading but since that's not your thing it won't help you much.

Get creative! My studies are in English Literature and Creative Writing, so what i sometimes do is put pen to paper and come up with ideas. I might start writing a short story or a chapter of a story that hasn't even been thought up yet, or write a part of a poem, or something along those lines. My girlfriend is a good artist so she sometimes picks up a pencil and sketch pad and just sketches something out.

Learn something new. I for example would love to learn a new language. Obviously two weeks is too short to do something like that, but you might decide you want to learn about magnets (How do they work?! (sorry, couldn't resist)), or something else totally spontaneous. Maybe you want to learn how to cook or prepare a meal. Something along those lines.

Failing that, there are always sites like miniclip that allow you to play browser based flash games for free.

Nnnnnn... I had rather mixed feelings about that book... 'twas pretty good at best IMO... *shrug*

OT: Well, now that you're here, make yourself comfortable. Put on a DVD in the background, watch it if it interests you enough. I'unno, plenty of crap you can get up to. Dig a hole in your back garden, nick some road signs and bury 'em, replace your lawn with your carpet and your carpet with your lawn, trim your neighbour's hedge into a massive cock and balls, put Bible covers on porn and leave it about... *shrug*

As I said, it's complicated and I'd rather not tell strangers on the internet about it but I guess the more I say that, the more intriguing it gets.

By golly are you far off. My problems far exceed a simple banning from games.

There are some excellent suggestions here. Reading is among my favorite pastimes, but it won't help much unless you find a book you enjoy.

If you have a bit of money and good hand-eye coordination, building plastic models of a plane, ship, spaceship, whatever floats your boat, is good time consuming fun. I'd actually suggest getting two model kits to start off, because you will screw the first one up badly even if you follow all instructions, its just a factor of the learning curve.
