Can't you cut people some slack when it comes to spelling, grammar and punctuation?

Oh my GODS, if it's missing dude, she might be preggers. You're gonna be a father.

I was wondering when someone would point that out.

Someone just pulled me up for my mispelling of Britain. Quite unforgivable really, but I still let him have it.

I don't have a problem with spelling mistakes but when the post is FULL of them, I mean like, every other word is spelt wrong, then it gets to me and I lose focus and sometimes I can't even read what they are trying to say. Punctuation and what not doesn't really bother me though because I'm used to IM language and people I talk to barely have any idea what a period or a comma is.

And people can say that it 'saves them time' but I can write a text just as (or faster) than most.
Exactly, EXACTLY! Especially when you've got a full keyboard available. The time it takes to hunt and peck compared to the time to just type properly and have a more-easily-understood result is practically the same.

I recommend Eats, Shoots, and Leaves if you want a fun but useful guide to proper punctuation... if for no other reason than how the title illustrates that punctuation marks are there for a reason.
Whilst I'd recommend not buying it, because Lynn Truss is a grammar Nazi. :)
You say that, but I'll bet you've never lost someone to a panda coffee-shop shooting spree...

I think it's useful, if only a little shameful to be called out on a spelling mistake. One should also consider the fact that to many; english, which seems to fly as the international way of commuting around the net, isn't really their native tongue, at all, so some leniency is expected. But with responsibility, because there has, also, been the case when someone has been called out on a mistake by another someone who is actually an actual english speaker and whose english writing is even worse or at least not up to snuff to be demanding anything and donesn't even realize it(that in fact has been my case in these very forums).

So, in short, calling someone out isn't really wrong, the manner in which is done is what is...if that makes sense.
