I just had to type that to post this thread. I'm sure many of you reading this had to type some similar gibberish to reply to another thread earlier today. Now, I have nothing against spam-protection, but isn't it a little odd that people who have high post counts and have been registered for months, even years, get a spambot check every once in a while? If it's not too inconvenient, I believe a system should be set up where, once a user reaches a certain post count and, say, two weeks registration time, they should no longer have to suffer having to type indecipherable nonsense.

I don't really like it, but then again, it doesn't bother me much. I'd like to not have it any more though. I agree with your "post count" idea.

Coincidentally, I had to use the Captcha in order to post this reply.

Right, I'm not saying we should have no spam protection, there just has to be a better way with less complaining.

I was wondering when someone was going to post something like this.
I don't get why they have to make them so hard to read.

if it helps cut down on spam on message boards, I'm all for anything like that.
it takes 5 extra seconds to post.

I've been lucky to get easy ones most of the time. But the first time I had to type a radical sign followed by a fucking lowecase gamma I began having issues with it.

Take out the weird characters and everything will be OK. Keep it to letters and numbers please.

EDIT: By the way, I can type all kinds of symbols with ease. Watch?

It's the principle that bothers me.

My main problem is that the captcha itself is a poorly made piece of crap. It should stick to ONE language. I should not have to answer in Chinese characters, or Sanskrit, or have to go look up how to type a Mu or an Umlaut. (not joking for any of that.)

I agree with the OP's idea. If we can't do that, can we at least switch to a different brand of captcha? This one is consistently terrible.

Edit: Forgot about this..

If it has a foreign lettering you can simply type Lololol and it'll go on through. So take the umlauts!

Not for those who have bad eyesight or continually get the impossible-to-read or foreign Capatchas.
that's what the refresh button is for when you can't read it, and the audio button for when you can't see it.
I don't know, maybe there are some weird foreign ones I haven't seen, I mostly just deal with googles.

I can't believe people are complaining that Capatcha is unreadable. Seriously, how can you not decipher this?

Elpsheir finish-line. Not that difficult.

I'm just waiting for the captcha to give a middle finger.
