Fresh off the virtual press, from their pre-Gamescom event in Germany, Capcom has announced the new IP, made by a new studio, Dontnod Entertainment, which is made up of former Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell and Burnout developers.

Here's an announcement trailer and a gameplay one too.

So, what are people's thoughts on this, then? Personally, it's definitely piqued my interest anyway.

EDIT: Was watching Futurama, and this came on. Seems relevant.

Gotta love youtube comments.
"Why is she a ******?"

Anyway, looks good. Kind of surprising to see something from Capcom that seems to have a plot that isn't fucking retarded.

Looks amazing. Anything that looks like Blade Runner gets two thumbs up from me.

Wow. It actually looks really good. See? Capcom CAN write stories. Lol, we knew they had it in them. The set up for this looks awesome, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Anyway, good to see one publisher still willing to try their hand at a new and probably also risky IP. Also, I'm a complete sucker for cyberpunk, so I'm keeping my eye on this one.

You never know, maybe this'll end up being the cyberassassin game that I was foolishly hoping the Syndicate remake would be.

I'm also seeing some inspiration from Ghost In The Shell, what with the augmented reality and mindhacking and such.

Between Blade Runner and GitS, that's some excellent material to draw from. Now all they need to do is make all the pieces fit.

As soon as I heard Bungie were finished with Halo, I've been praying to the gaming gods that they'd make another Oni title :D

You had me at "new IP". But no, looks good, very good. Stylistically I like that there's a distinct Japanese look to it that's not anime. And the cross of cultures; English protagonist + appears to be set in Paris. Awesome.

Gameplay wise I'll have to see more of the combat. I'm guessing they'll be going for something very close to Assassin's Creed, which wouldn't be all that bad. The brain-hacking mini-game I'm more unsure of. There's an easy trap they can fall in on by making it both unintuitive and beatable by pure trial-and-error. The game that sprung to mind to me was actually LA Noire with the interrogations, as an example of a sort of puzzle mini-game that sounded great but didn't really work in practice. I'd have gone for a more action-based brain-hack game, like an Inception rip-off where you have to fight your way past the mind's defences or something.

Yup. Same here.

Then I heard they were going to be making a sci-fi shooter.

You're right, it certainly draws from GitS as well. Got potential this!

It took them many many MANY tries to actually write a cool story. 10 times a charm i suppose eh ?

Anyway, i get rarely excited about games that come out this generation but i have to say that this one looks pretty damn cool.

Looks interesting. It looks and sounds great, too. I'll add this to the list of "Games to Keep an Eye On," next to Watch Dogs.

Remember Me is kind of a strange name for a new franchise. Would work better as the title of a book or film imo.

"Hey, are you guys picking up Remember Me 2?"

Bourne + Total Recall with some Deus Ex: HR, Metal Gear Raiden vibes?

Well they're topical at least. Seriously though, looks interesting, really really interesting. I could fall in love with this game if it does this well. Whats with future games looking like they may actually be interesting all of a sudden?
