I wonder if Capcom plans to include that one thing they promised the original would have but was released without. You know. Content.

Ya, and the same thing happened with SF4 and SSF4, and has happened with every other fighting game ever. That's how they work and what makes a new fighting game. Some genres add new content with a new story, or some new levels, or areas. Fighting games add them with new balance patches, new characters, and new areas to fight.

That and the game like SSF4 is not being released at full price but as $40, so you are paying less for a game that has more...I don't get it the hate..
People are upset because they would rather purchase the game, on a disc, one time, and then have the rest of any additional content released as DLC. Most other game genres release their content this way, and it makes both the company and the customers happy.

That being said, not all fighting games have released their content this way. How long was the gap between SFIV and SSFIV? Because MvC3 came out only earlier this year. If it was at least a full year before an announcement such as this was known, then people would be more accepting of the new version.

Think how when Valve announced Left 4 Dead 2, at least a full year after Left 4 Dead was out and enjoyed. It's the same basic principle. It's fine if you are comfortable in your expendable income to purchase a new version of the same game you already own every year, but not everybody is as agreeable with parting with their money.

Entertainment is expensive, yes, but this kind of business practice is hardly the way to go. As for UMvC3 itself, of course I'll be purchasing it, because I love the original version. Even more so if they are allowing you to trade in the original for a discount on the newer version. More power to that. I'm displeased with this new version existing on a disc rather than DLC, yes, but I'm willing to look past that aspect for the new content being released.

Nothing else to it. People are just uptight with their money. Do not take Youtube comments seriously. Never do that.

[small]If I have to purchase Jill and Shuma Gorath again, then I'll have something to be pissed about.[/small]

I feel like they should have included all that content in the first place, and it should be free to make up that Strider wasn't there in the first place. Man Capcom are such greedy bastards.

Name me 1 fighting game that has updated/patched this amount of content (characters, balance, and new modes) and has not charged for it.
That's the other side of my point. Wasn't everyone complaining about these omissions at the game's launch? And now that they charge another $40, it's bygones?

Didn't BlazBlue: CS recently have a massive patch, though?

If I recall this MVC3 was released back in February so its been only SIX MONTHS!? WHAT!?

This had better be less than 30 euros on release or someones going to die.

Wait, so it's Ultimate Marvel in name only?
Which also means no Ultimate Capcom characters.
Son of a *****, they made me watch a trailer for Super Marvel Vs. Capcom just by changing the name.

Blazblue: CS, became Blazblue CS2 which is the just the 3 new characters plus balance updates.
The balance update was free, but each character costs 8$ each, but the game is still Blazblue: CS.

Blazblue: CS2 is also being sold for the 3DS and PSP for 30-40$.

Which is again a content update(not nearly as large as MvC3 to UMvC3) which has a price point.

As to the first part of your post...for most people, yes.

I would be happier about this if they didn;t half-ass to original. The original was great and all, but still. It lost playability fast because of the lack of features. This is why I want ultimate so badly, but I should have wanted it in the first place. Tiem to sell back MvC3 and put down something on UMvC3.

Add Samanosuke from Onimusha and maybe I'll buy used. Add a full story mode, then I'll consider preordering it.

I could go on for ages about how cheap and slimy it is to just release the same game improved, forgetting the lack of features in the first one, and how genuinley pissed at this I am, but fuck it, I liked the first, so I'm buying it. Pre-owned. And selling my MvC3 to pay for it. I encourage everyone else who had MvC3 to do the same, see if we send a message
Oh god it's like pokemon all over again isn't it... you buy the version you want, then 3/4 of a year later you buy the cross over version...

we should be able to trade in MvC3 and get UMvC3 for a discount or something I mean come on!

Gosh, you know, that?s really cool and all, but?..

Still no Sakura Kasugano???????? What! Why!
Unlike mvc2, they're trying to keep Street Fighetr character out of this one. It may be the biggest capcom series, but instead we got Frank west, Nemesis, vigil, and Pheonix Wright.

I said it before and I'll say it again. It hasn't been a full year since the original was released, and Capcom announcing this makes it feel like we're back in the 90s. I don't get why they would do this (please don't say money as that is overrated). I hope this will be DLC like RE 5 Gold Edition and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition where you had a choice to either buy it with or without the DLC.

Do they make 20 of these per year... not a week goes by when I don't see one of these Billy vs. Potato fighters announced.

Kinda awesome, glad it has a lot more characters. Now they just need to un-cancel Megaman Legends 3 and I'll be happy with Capcom.

That picture comes up blank for me. Still, if they're putting in Phoenix...

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Sorry, the idea of Nick in a fighting game seems to bring out the squealing fanboy in me.
