So has anyone picked this up yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

I think it's a great collection. 7 games for $20.00 is not a bad deal. Yes, it does not come with The Punisher, Cadillcas & Dinosaurs, or Alien vs. Predator. It's impossible, due to copyright nightmare.

My favorite on this collection is Battle Circuit. A 4 player beat em up that is a spiritual sequel to Captain Commando. It's the first time this game has even been brought state side officially (EU & JP only), as the game never came to US shores. So emulation was the only way to play. I have gotten so many online sessions with this game recently. Most have worked online with little issues, but from what I have heard, the online is not that good on the Switch version. I got the PS4 version, so I haven't had too much trouble with connection on most sessions I host or join. The only flaw with doing online, is that you don't have an indicator of other peoples ping connection to know if theirs are good or not; like in most fighting games or FPSs. You can change your ping for better connection, but not view others. I recommend setting your ping to 5/10. I generally get a good connection 80% of the time.

You can also play the Japanese versions of all the games and there is bonus content with the art gallery. Though I find it a bit lacking with Final Fight's artwork, because you got more artwork from the Capcom Classics Collection or Final Fight: Double Impact on 360/PS3. Overall, I recommend this game if you're into old school arcade bralwers or interested in the genre.

It's really spectacular, if a bit barebones compared to the brilliant archival quality of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. What's heartbreaking is that none of the killer licensed stuff. No D&D, no AVP, no Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. But like you said: it has Battle Circuit! I never thought I'd see that game officially released ever again.

And even the 30th Anniversary Collection felt bare bones compared to 3rd Strike Online or the collection in the 6th generation. The advantage of the SF collection quantity over quality. Getting all of those games again is a copyright nightmare. The DnD collection I think you can still buy on PSN, but good luck finding anybody online for that one.

I am glad to see another fan of the collection. My heart nearly stopped when I saw Battle Circuit in the trailer.

I already have Final Fight, Captain Commando and Knights of the Round via the Capcom Arcade Collection, so this would only be for Battle Circuit.

Still, kudos to them for the nod to us brawler fans.

Konami, what's taking YOU so long?

Their pachinko slots and forgetting they're a videogame company. Plus, a majority of their beat'em ups are licensed properties. They could only get Crime Fighters, Vendetta (Crime Fighters 2), Violent Storm, and Metamorphic Force. 3 out of the 4 are worth playing. Crime Fighters 1 has aged so horribly no matter which version you play.

Oh yea. I hate getting reminded of that.

Speaking of that, I fired it up on MAME just last night. You're sadly very very correct. I think the only thing it does have going for it was the sound FX on the hits.

Every time I start thinking about Konami following Capcom down this path, I get so nervous. They used to be *amazing* at compilations. Back in the PS1/Saturn days, Konami released spectacular compilations. There's even an MSX comp for Saturn that just plain rules. But the good old Konami's been dead for about ten years now and the killer comps like Salamander and Gradius Collections on PSP are long gone. The last time they did anything like this was, well, Silent Hill HD Collection. And we all remember how that went. Admittedly, MGS HD Collection is solid, but that was all Kojima and Bluepoint collaborating. Who knows, though? Maybe this little Dracula X comp they're doing for PS4 will be great and it'll be the start of something nice.

A new update:

https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2018/10/24/capcom-beat-em-up-bundle-update/amp/

The new features are:

New Screen Filters ? Transport yourself back to the arcades with new scanline/arcade filter options.

New Screen Size ? In addition to the full screen size, there is now the option to display the screen in its original size to fit more types of screens.

ON/OFF Toggle for Mid-session Joining ? When creating a lobby, there is now an option to turn off the ability for other players to join your in-game session.

these updates happen in November. It is never specified when in November though. I'm glad Capcom is adding these options, but I feel like most of these should have been in the collection to begin with. Especially the screen size in screen filter options. I really wish the update would include to read other people's pain connection so you know how good or bad in might be.
