I like Devil May Cry. I like fantasy settings. I'll...wait for more details!

This looks so good...but its by Capcom...what to do?
Depends...

Capcom is basically the only Japanese studio to even be remotely successfully with "appealing to the West"...On the other hand, their quality when it comes to picking games to publisher is all over the place.

Okay, are you BLIND, Tito? The official trailer has the 360 logo in it.

Anyway, I was wondering what the DMC team was up to. This could be interesting. I'll keep my eye on it
Sorry, corrected in the post. I didn't see that in the official information.

"...The story [of Dead Rising 2] is naturally retarded. This is Capcom we're talking about.
Capcom makes Stories like a tumble drier makes Potato Salad." -Yahtzee Croshaw

I didn't put that up becuase I necessarily agree with that, mind you. I just put it up cause it just popped into my head halfway through the article. I'm not fully sure why...

....Not sure if want? I mean, yea, those screens look kinda nice, if not totally unimaginative, but at this point I just don't give a damn. Partially because I've got enough tolkien-esque fantasy games in my library, or to look forward to (Skyrim is enough), and...it's made by capcom. Don't get me wrong, RE5 was a fun co-op game, but....that's really all I got. They can't tell a story to save their life, all these comparisons to Monster Hunter make this game just seem more and more off-putting, and I just don't think they will know how to actually make this kind of game without it being just either an HD Monster Hunter (FUUUUUUU-) or DMC without guns.

Really though, I just don't have a lot of faith in these guys, but I am certainly willing to eat those words if the game turns out to be something good.

skyrim meets DMc. Which DMC. Because if it is that new DMC with emo, douchbag Dante then I hope it is leaning more towards skyrim.

*Drools*

This looks like exactly the kind of game I'd fall in love with. I can't wait!

Please....allow me to hold your head in the bucket of ice water for comparing this to Skyrim...its alright...the bubbles will stop after a few...
You're right. Judging from that Oblivion travesty, I'd say Skyrim won't compare to this at all.
Hell, this new Capcom game has probably ripped off Oblivion and it will still be a far superiour game.

"The player will be able to choose to play as one of three classes - Mage, Fighter and Strider"

I've always wanted to play as a strider from halflife 2.. Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet?

"I've wanted to do this for years, but we finally have consoles that can run it."
Yeah? And here I was thinking the 360 was already out for what, 6 years? Or am I misunderstanding the guy here?

I think they might be referring to the control style. None of DMC's artistic direction is evident here.

Huminahuminahumina I like the look of this. I like the look of it a LOT. Yeah, it looks fairly generic, but it looks pretty interesting too; I like the Griffin-Dragon-Thing. :D

Dragon's Dogma is probably the single most awful name for a game I've heard in a while...

...but it does look visually pretty, yes. =)

OT: WHY no PC release?

Looks nice, more details first please. Especially, the burning question... what is a Strider? Because as much as I would like it, I doubt it's Strider Hiryuu...
The obvious answer is that this is the game's standard archer class. Since, as in pretty much every other action RPG, you have the trio of sword-bow-wand. Although some early games did try to mix it up a bit...

I'm guessing they called it Strider because OH LOOKIE TOLKIEN REFERENCE THAT SHOULD APPEAL TO WESTERN AUDIENCES, RIGHT?

I mean, the original bow-wielding RPG class - ranger in D&D - was explicitly based on the Middle-Earth Rangers, why not just stick to that name? Strider doesn't work, IMHO...

It is horrible, yes... But with the RPG drought, maybe we shouldn't be looking the gift horse in the teeth. I mean, Gothic was a horrible title (maybe climatic, but completely unrelated to the game), and the game was great.

That being said, the article doesn't fill me up with hope really...

Yea, just thought that naming it Strider and having it being a mere archer would be immensely disappointing. The Tolkien reference was visible, but... I don't know, maybe I'm too idealistic in thinking that they can't be that crazy/lame just to randomly throw in Strider just to snag a Tolkien fan or two (especially since I don't see it working.)
