Caprica pilot, series, opinions.

I just saw the pilot episode for the new Syfy series "Caprica". I'm a BSG fan, so i was at first excited to see that there was going to be a prequel series, but after seeing the pilot for this new series, I felt kind-of, well, let down.
Now, I can't base my opinion on the series entirely off of the pilot episode, but I have a feeling that this is just going to be the beating of the BSG dead horse. I can't imagine how BSG fans would really find Caprica appealing.
Have any of you seen the pilot episode for Caprica? Opinions?

I seem to remember Ron Moore, or somebody involved with the show, saying that people will probably go into it expecting to see more Battlestar Galactica, but that isn't what they're going to get. Caprica is a completely different show compared to BSG. That being said, if you can't tell by my forum handle I am a huge Battlestar Galactica fan and I still enjoyed the pilot for Caprica.

Anyone from the UK will easily confuse the advert for Caprica with the ad for the new series of Skins which follows the same line of moody teenagers in night clubs

I love Caprica, wonder if they can actually pull a full series out of this. They have set themselves a huge challenge.....

Syfy sounds like a cute nickname for Syphilis.

Anyway, I reserve judgement on the programme until it continues.
