I have recently been trying to do some card tricks, and learn better shuffling techniques. And, I decided to ask people here, what kind of tricks do you do, or which do you like?

None of them. I am embarrasingly awful at shuffling cards. You know that trope where the guy shuffling cards "explodes" the deck everywhere? That's me, so no, no card tricks unfortunately. I can make it look like I'm pulling one of my thumbs off though. What's that worth?

Going by the list on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shuffling#Shuffling_techniques, the ways I shuffle are riffle (for standard playing cards or a junk/throwaway TCG deck,) overhand shuffle, pile shuffling (mainly for a newly assembled TCG deck since I can help break up multiples easier than the first two methods,) and weave shuffle (sleeved TCG cards or standard playing cards.) I don't really do tricks, but I've been meaning to try.

I love card tricks. I know some easy tricks, and I've practiced some techniques like double lifts, fake cuts, card forces, Elmsley count, etc. I'm still not great with them, though. I only really care about card tricks that can be done with minimal or no preparation, and without any gimmick cards.

As for shuffling, my favourite way to do it is the tabled riffle shuffle. It's great because you get the thorough shuffle as with any kind of riffle shuffle, but without bending the cards. With overhand shuffling, I've found that instead of taking some cards and pushing them in the deck, it's easier to lift random cards from the pack and drop them on top. That way you won't cause wear on the edges. Card sleeves make overhand shuffling a lot easier as well. The sleeves create a sort of a wedge shape at the edges of the cards, so it's easy to push the cards inbetween each other.

As a magic player, I quickly learnt to shuffle cards:
1. I sleeve my cards
2. I pile shuffle
3. I push the piles together.

Now I want to shuffle my decks...
