There are some cartoons/anime I'd like to see as videogames: Code Geass and Ghost in the Shell.
Code Geas lends itself better action shooter as it's about open warfare while Ghost would probably be more of a stealth game.
Both Code Geas and Ghost in the Shell have games... unfortunately they're the generic Japanese cash in kind. Not bad to play, just not terribly fulfilling. One anime game I'd love for them to get right is Eureka 7. They had a series with an intriguing prequel story, but again... not terribly fulfilling.

Personally, I'd go for Samurai Jack, as an Okami style action RPG. And as for some personal wish fulfilment: a mystery adventure game based on 'Filmore!'... but damned if anyone has even heard of that awesome cartoon.

70s cop show based in an absurdly well funded middle school safety patrol... why doesn't anyone remember this?!

Wooo, I remember that show, I really liked it, it was like X-files for kids with some touch of noir. Just mix LA Noire with Bully and we are done

I want to say it was actually a game, and then a cartoon, but I always really liked Tak & the Power of Juju. I haven't played it in years, though.

I have shamed myself and everyone I know by forgetting to mention that Rocket Robin Hood would make the best video game ever.

EVER.

Just look at the intro theme song:

Angelic Layer seemed to have the perfect premise for a video game. I don't know why it never happened.

How about Exo-Squad? A mix of the third-person shooter and flight game models?

Not strictly cartoon, but I've been wanting to see the Disney Princess characters as superheroes since the buyout was announced. If it is in video game form rather than a comic book, I have no problem with that.

The best era for Cartoon games was the 8 / 16 / arcade era, with beatem ups like The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Turtles, Battletoads, X Men and platformers like Mickey's Illusion series and Quackshot Starring Donald Duck.

Also Treasure's Astroboy on GBA, The current Naruto fighters

And UN Squadron MD / SNES

Macross: Do you remember love PS1 / Sat

That would be awesome - a true fact that cannot be disputed

For the uninitated, ReBoot is a CGI show from the 90's, one of the first CGI shows, I think. At any rate, it is mega kickass, because it takes place in the computer itself - a large portion of the characters (sort of the generic population) are zeroes and ones, but there are others, like Dot, Slash, Megabyte, Hexadecimal, etc. So a bit meta when you look at it. But the real kicker comes with the fact that when the "user" (referred to as some sort of deity) plays games, the games actually drop onto the city and anyone caught in them becomes an NPC. Woah, meta meta.
Wow, I remember that, it was amazing. Im on an unbelievable nostalgia trip thanks to you!

There's one for the GBA. It looks like MMBN with an Angelic Layer coat of paint.

Good to see you mention 8-bit in there, because Ducktales and Rescue Rangers were really solid platformers for the NES.

EDIT: To correrct my sperrling.

There was a Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex game on PS2. A friend of mine had it, and really loved it.

OOO! OOO! I LOVE GIANT ROBOTS!

Man I miss that show...

EDIT: I just thought of one, what about Zoids? The one with Liger Zero? That could be fun as an action game.

I loved the Simpsons Hit and Run at the time it came out, I was pretty young though. The Cartoon Network fighting game was alright too, Nothing special but alright!

I think a Samurai Jack game would be awesome.

Black Lagoon would make a kick ass game. Think of it as like playing Wet, but good.

Huh. That's all I can think of. Strange...

CyberConnect2 makes some awesome Naruto games. They make it feel like your actually in the show.

Now, if we could get CC2 to make a Gurren Lagann game and have it play like Ultimate Ninja Storm, that would be awesome.

I'm thinking a free roaming game with RPG leveling aspects. Make Simon feel weak in the first half of the game and make him max level by the time he defeats Lordgenome. He can level up by beating side quests from people of Team Dai-Gurren or just roaming around killing random Gunmen. Then make the level cap bigger when Simon becomes an adult. Introduce more side quests n' shit.

I don't know, the gameplay is open to interpretation. I just think it would be epic.
