-I agree with everything said in this post- ]:|

...and the truth saddens me... remember when Cartoons Network tried to do that "Cartoon Network LIVE" thing? Complete Failure, yet they're still trying to pry it in... Remember Toonami? Remember Cartoon Fridays? Or when Cartoon Fridays was solely run by the cartoon characters? I didn't mind it when they started to introduce live people, because at first, it was still...fun, but then they introduced those -horrible- brats. Since then, nearly -everything- fell.

Also, yeah, after the Spongebob Movie, the lead/main/whatever writer-guy left, so, obviously, the quality in later episodes fell sharply. With he first seasons, when Spongebob's face came off, there was a square rib-cage, a cartoony heart and eyes, and it was all good humorous fun. In the newer episodes, when Spongebob's face came off, there's blood, organs, muscle, sinew, and it's just disturbing and disgusting- which, while it works for Invader Zim, it absolutely doesn't work with Spongebob.

Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy. I almost forgot about that show. Damnit, Sky, I'm going to have to watch that. *shakes fist*

Fat Dog Mendoza was creepy. I mean, just look at it...

Bwahahahaha! Me and my cousin loved Phooey. We sang the theme song along with it =P

OT: Great article Frank! ;D

I am more of an 80's cartoon person. I watched many of the early 90's cartoons like: Darkwing Duck, TailSpin, Rocko's Modern Life, Pinky and the Brain, Tiny Toons, and Animaniacs. I do have many fond memories of them. Though cartoons are changing these days, recently, a lot CG stuff from the looks of it.

also, I, for one, do miss the Hanna-Barbera logo, to me it was a seal of quality, and right now its the flag of an era that more than likely will never come back, so for nostalgia's sake:

Criminy. That really makes me feel old. For no other reason except that when I hear this sound--

I have childhood flashbacks.

Has anyone watched Courage the Cowardly Dog lately, the political messages in it are crazy.

Maybe its just me but you know when your a kid and your watching these shows then you go back years later and watch them as an adult does anyone else pick up on the adult humor and jokes they would put in them. Maybe its just me but when I watch say Ren and Stimpy now I'm always thinking how did they get away with letting that slide.

Cartoons in the '80's and '90's were great. Though now I don't like G.I. Joe as much as I used to. Maybe because I look at it from a different angle now.
But things like the transformers, Duckman, ren & stimpy, king of the hill, beavis and butt-head, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, he-man and marshall bravestarr will never be forgotten.

*Eidit: Oh yeah! And starcom, that was also very good.

Cartoons from the 90's where definitely the best. Dexter's Laboratory, Ed, Edd and Eddy, Spongebob, Cow And Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Billy and Mandy (I also really enjoyed Sheep in the Big City though I bet it's painful to watch now). There's still some good shows on Cartoon Network, like Flapjack and Adventure Time, but Nickelodeon has just been producing crap right now (Fanboy And Chum Chum, The Mighty Bee, Making Fiends, My Life as A Teenage Robot, All have majorly sucked. Glenn Martin is watchable though, and the Penguins of Madagascar is good). I miss the 90's. Also, that 7 Season Cancellation thing Cartoon Network has sucks big! If I had a cartoon series that was so popular I would want it to keep going no matter how much money I'd loose.

(PS, I am a cartoonist myself. I would like an interview if you don't mind. Here's my Youtube Page:

Just want to say, this year "cartoons" arn't doing so well at all. I mean I seen a few "cartoons" their trying to pass on, the next month, I don't see it at all and their playing old esp of Ed Edd Eddy, or something. Hopefully their getting the picture of the old cartoons and make something better, or perhaps

Did anyone watch Samurai Pizza Cats on Fox Kids? It was truly immense. Also, Biker Mice From Mars were so cool.

I love it.

Though I'm disappointed that nobody listed Courage the Cowardly Dog as one of their favorite shows in those reviews.

I thought that show was great, and I'm glad that CN is showing re-runs of it now.
