In all seriousness, I will be seriously surprised if Portal doesn't win this. It may be more interesting to see who comes second (although in a knockout tournament, second doesn't actually *mean* second best).
And every single one of those 8 is either a game that I thoroughly enjoyed, or a game that I really want to play. Except Oblivion. For some reason, I just couldn't stand Oblivion.

Oh, and Round 4 already?! Damn, I missed Round 3...

Nah, Portal's pretty much gonna go over every other game I'm sure. It's gonna be Skyrim vs. Portal in the end, I can see that a mile away at this point.

I'm rooting for Fallout 3 since I would feel guilty voting for Skyrim because I haven't played it.

Name at least a few.

Arkham City, any of the WoW expansions, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Portal 2, The World Ends With You, Metal Gear Solid 4, Street Fighter IV, League of Legends. Any of these would have a very good chance of making it into the second round unless matched up with a top 16 game, with Arkham City being a very good chance for top 8. You could also list another ~20 games that could have easily equaled any of the first round knock outs, which is why this is kind of silly.

Can you point out a couple?

Mediocre was a pretty obvious use of hyperbole (with the exception of Lord of the Rings: Online) but any of these would have been crushed by the above.

Lord of the Rings: Online, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Plants Verse Zombies, Dragon Age 2, Dead Space.

The first list is a very good example of what they could've added, except maybe the WoW expansions. Although WoW is an exceptional game, they're just expansions.

I'd be a little surprised to hear you guys weren't expecting this kind of reaction to it. I mean, fun or not, you've had March Madness how many years now? You have to know the kind of vitriol these things bring out in people, silly though it is. Not saying it's how people should react, but were you really expecting it not to happen?

It's true. The smouldering embers of Skyrim-rage still live on this site (I just ran into several examples on another thread), while Psychonauts and Half Life are so rose-tinted that... I can't think up a good analogy. They are viewed very favourably, anyways.

SotC will probably make it pretty far, as it's one of this sites favourite examples for "games as art." It'll fall eventually, unless people start carpet-posting GIFs of Agro falling from the bridge.
