And Master Chief could be played by a damn mannequin on a remote controlled platform, as he never shows his face (and thus emotion) - you don't need an actor for that. I think actually signing a big name actor for that will be a real sign of weakness in the product.
V for Vendetta. How much emotion is portrayed on V's face even though he constantly wears that same damned mask.
I'm with Simon_TR though. Full CGI all the way, and the original voice actors.
There is a subtle difference there. For one, V's style of movement and his posing is still highly contributory to the character, while Master Chief, as you may have noticed, is in an armoured suit, and is genetically bred.
V was also some kind of experiment.
but why would any one want a HALO movie, it might be considerd epic but HALO is a young franchise, personally I think a HALO movie would be a waste of time. And indeed if the likes of Uwe Boll (well he was the right person for the postal film) would be making it, it would suck harder than an industrial vacuum cleaner.
I'd Rather see the castlevania movies ( but I still think it would suck)
When games turn hollywood they start to break down all that was cool about the games. my best example would be Resident evil 2 (film) an emotional nemesis... come on... in the game it's just an annoying pain in the ass with that can grunt nothing but S.T.A.R.S. and is damn hard to kill.
I liked the tomb raider movies, the games don't have that much more story and I like Angelina Jolie in tight outfits.
and indeed the terrible love story things, "blech!" I mean let's make a movie about say... Duke nukem (wich could be great if you did it just right) would the Duke fall in love with one of the strippers he just payed.. c'mon... not all movies need sentiment or mushy love scenes just gimme some hard boiled action here.
In that matter the 80's where great where the likes of arnie and stallone could kick anyone's ass just because they were the good guys.
