Oh life with labels, how very droll.

I just refuse to join in the master debate of what defines casual and what defines hardcore. Whatever, I just play games to have fun. Good enough for me.

for the first time today, i was called a casual gamer. they said it was because i didnt put the time in that they did, and that i shouldn't be playing at all (i am leaving the name of the game out to reduce biases). my response to this was "i dont play to be the best, i play for fun" and for the rest of the time with these people, all i received was complaints about how im just a casual and how im ruining the game industry.

so my question is this, am i in the wrong for only playing for fun?

Huh? That's not even what casual gamer is suppose to MEAN.

Casual gamer? Please! That is a made up word for me. Your either a gamer or your not. And why play a game if not for the fun of it. If your just playing it to be the best then enter a tournament or a contest. So no, your fine and who ever those guys were, they probably aren't worth the time to game with.

Leave it to the internet to take a fairly innocent term for a specific gaming demographic and turn it into a pejorative. If you want to make fun of someone, make fun of console gamers.
