Cave Story Symbolism: Red Flowers and the Pursuit of Power

...HEY GUYS. It's been a longlong while since I've posted on this site, and I apologize for that. College had been distracting for quite some time. I did however manage to make this video during the semester, just neglected to post it anywhere. Let's fix that.

In this episode I deconstruct the symbolism of one of the most successful Indie games ever made. Cave Story's narrative is mainly about the pursuit of power, as is it's gameplay, and in both cases, how you obtain that power is crucial to the game's message.

Okay, so first off, I like the balance of comedy and analysis in this one. I agree with Jun Jun, you've come into your own and are starting to cement your style a little more. I like it. Keep it up and it'll take you places. The Doges of mortal understanding had me choking on my drink. Gotta stop with the soda when I watch this stuff.

To be honest when I decided to watch this I thought it was going to be rubbish, you really pleasantly surprised me this video was a lot better than I expected. You have an amazing voice and the video was really good. I like how you seem to know your stuff and none of it seems out of the realms of possibility (unlike the game theory videos which I find to be far too over examined) I'm going to watch the Majora's Mask one now and If I enjoy it as much as this one you will have a new subscriber.
