Comparing yourself to Top Gear is blasphemy, go do 10 laps in a TVR and one lap in a mondeo as your punishment.
You mean a Volkswagen Beatle right?
I'm focusing more on actors as a whole and people who really don't contribute much but are glorified as if they're above everyone. In the end all celebrities are entertainers and entertainment is not i big importance in the world.
To be fair to the actors (which I hate being), there are very few people in the world that can "entertain" others. It takes a special kind of person to make millions of people laugh/cry/cheer over something that isn't exactly real. Do all actors/famous people do this? No way.

There are some actors, in my opinion, that deserve what they get paid. They bring characters to life in ways that no one else could. There are others that purely entertain us, but don't really provide depth of character other than once or twice (looking at you Vin Diesel).

On a whole, people like Paris Hilton pay for their fame with money. They don't actually deserve any of it. I mean, come on. A show about a rich girl who does work? A show. About a girl. Who does what everyone else does. How is that important at all?
I'm not saying they don't deserve to get paid what they do if the movies does well and make loads of money they should get paid well what i'm saying is that they are over glorified they do their job well but that dosen't mean that they should have as much focus on them as they do.

I'll agree with you partly. No, they probably shouldn't have as much "focus" on them as they do, but they should get the fame for what they do. By that I mean that some reporter asking them who they'd vote for, and people voting the same way because of that celebrity, is stupid.
They should get props for doing a good movie, though. Just my opinion. I'm also sorry about almost derailing your thread into a Top Gear thread :p

I see you're point i guess i just never was really that impressed with a celebritie I just feel sometimes that people that deserve recognition don't get it. While in high school i remember i had teachers who were good, but were forced to dumb down theire teaching material because most of the class were too slow to comprehend the material, and i remember most of the student would focus so much on celebrities and all that while failing basic classes maybe it's just my opinion but sometime i feel we have our priorites completely mixed up. And dont worry about derrailing the thread it happens to me alot too

It's because celebrities are supposed to be perceived as the role models for society.

They are supposed to be the people setting examples for us; yet all I hear about is how some celebrity got drunk at a night club, or how Brad Pitt walked out on Angelina Jolie when they have 5 or so kids, what kind of fucking example does that set?

They are made up by the media to be better people than the rest of us, just because they make millions in the careers that they chose, and what's amazing about this is that hardly any of them contribute ANYTHING to society at all.

I hardly ever see any movie or music celebs donating to charities or whatever (even though I don't even know how much of a difference that makes), nor do I see them volunteering in a community.

I mean, you know you fail when NFL stars are volunteering in communities, and Paris Hilton is driving while intoxicated. Great example, Paris, no wonder the world is so fucked.
