That's pretty big talk coming from the country of literal rape games.

Yes, yes, "No more generalizations" and all that, I just wanted to chime in before this thread gets locked.

Dude, chill.

The same could be said to most of the comments in that image.

Just because a tiny group of mostly non-consumers of a work can force change in a creative work on the basis of them being personally offended because the creators fear the bad PR that will follow if they don't submit, not to mention the rather predictable threats and harassment. But that's the OK kind of threats and harassment, because it's done in the name of SOCIAL JUSTICE!

It's not *REAL* harassment, like writing a company and politely pointing out that they're advertising on a shitty rag that's doing shitty things like Gawker. *THAT'S* harassment.

So, some cherry picked comments from an image board now represent all Japanese gamers?

Besides, Japanese publishers edit foreign games as well. Heck, the Japanese industry has a long an proud tradition of making 'all ages' versions of their own 18+ games. Some are pretty popular in Japan, actually, like Utawarerumono.

Ugh, more "censorship" related drama. Maybe it's time to give up gaming and take up golf. They don't seem to have to deal with this crap.

So the thread that broke the camels back, causing your little rant was because they slightly increased the amount of skin covered by a characters panties? That's it?

Huh.

I... er, I don't think you're exactly helping to portray your beloved Japan in the most positive light there mate.

If I were to see that image out of context I'd think you were trying to make them look like raving, overreacting xenophobes.

All you gotta do is add "step-" to whatever relation the main character is romantically interested in, and suddenly it's fit for America <.<

That is kinda one of the things that ticks me off though, someone gets a game censored over here because they can't handle the titties, and all of a sudden it's my fault? I'm trying my best here, b-baka!
Meh, they usually add that in Japan as well. Either that, or when the sexual tension is at its peak, you find out she (or the main character) is adopted.

The trick to bringing sexy games over to American is making everyone 18. The age of consent is a little lower in Japan, so you have to make the minors a little older so they're legal by American standards.
