Is there even a point to this? They make these stories up with no real impact. It seem more like a waist of their writer time and of the companies resources that could be better spent fixing bug or making stories that bring them out of there same heroes as the last game that been noted even here. Most of the time like this one about them holding back prothin tech. within 2 week the company bent over after the councils sent a specter while trying to make it look like they were negotiating. They changed the company name and bent right over. They could make stories that matter instead they just waist there writers time and set there fan up for a fall. Yes this is a rant to some degree but it tick me off when they got out of their way to make something new and don?t do anything with it.

It's completley harmless and probably takes one writer about 10 minutes to make. They had a story about table crabs killing someone for god's sake. Most of the stories are about obscure shit that a writer can dream up with ease. I seriously doubt it detracts from other aspects of the franchise.

This seems incredibly petty to whine over.

This is what can be lovingly referred to as "fluff". It adds to the universe, gives it more depth. Fluffy, if you will.

1. It's "waste" their time.
2. Writers don't have anything to do with bug fixing.
3. I don't really understand the other point. Put more time writing into the next DLC/ME3? Each Cerberus daily news is like one paragraph.. It maybe takes them an hour.

Do we know for sure they're not going to do anything with it? And even if they don't, again, it's only a few paragraphs, plus it adds a lot of what some find interesting backstory and expanding on the universe. I like seeing new stuff on there every time I play.

Not really whinning just bored and doing something while I wait for the grave to take me. To be honest I really don't care what bioware does anymore. Just waisting time and seeing what others have to say.

a lot of them are allegorical as well, usually pertaining to something that happened recently in the news, the Christmas one made me really take a second look at the holiday.

waisting...
waisting...

Not trying to troll, but you really need to learn how to spell... (the grammar nazi in me is coming out)
On another note, why are you even complaining about something extra Bioware decided to put in the game in order to further "transport" yourself into the Mass effect world and make the whole immersion factor that much greater? This just seems like you're complaining about a free gift that someone gave you that doesn't detract from anything. Also, what "bugs" are you talking about? I haven't encountered one and I've 100%'d it 3 times now.

The point is immersion.

All the little details you see in the ME universe add up together to make it feel like a real, lived in and believable place. I'm sure it doesn't take them long to code it.

I?m also hoping this may impact Mass Effect 3, After all didn't they say they found a damaged reaper and got some volunteers who went into its cyber mind ? Doesn?t sound too healthy. Perhaps this is How and Why the Reapers are invading earth. Could be an attempt to take out a council race or Lure commander Shepard. (didn?t Harbinger say he?s valuable to them in some way?).

I don't mind CDN (oh god I cant believe I abbreviated it...)

However I find some of the stories to be seemingly irrelevant to what goes on game, I understand the whole point is 'fluff' as someone said, but it just seems to deviate from the game so much that it has no significance to it.

Being bored isn't a reason to complain about something this petty. Go watch TV, do a few pushups, read a book for Christ sakes.

It almost certainly does not require code of any sort. Beyond the tool required to translate a text file into the proper packet and push it out into the world, which was obviously done at the same time the game was released a year ago.

Hell, I push out a dozen posts a day with a higher word count than these news stories and I spend perhaps an hour a day here. I would hope that a trained and experienced writer could do better than I. And for the effort, they certainly help the world seem like a convincing place rather than just a clever math problem.

CerberusDailyNews.com is not owned or operated by BioWare. We are just big fans of their work and wish to make it more accessible.

In half the countries on earth you'd spend a good chunk of your day worrying about securing enough clean water for tomorrow. First world problem.

Also, other people are free to complain about your complaining. When you start the bitching snowball rolling there are no rules about how it grows.

Sufficed to say these stories flesh out the universe and give the writers something to do. And the writers are usually not the programmers these days. Maybe in the future they'll use them as part of the Mass Effect three buildup, maybe not. Some of them are pretty interesting like the Turian Duel. I like them, but to each their own. As for you... I guess, just don't look at them? Also waiting for case west but I have a lot of things to fill my free time till then. Shit man I dunno, learn an instrument or another language, go for a jog. If you're bored there's a lot of productive shit you can do. If you wanna blow your time pick up a game on sale. New Vegas is 35 bucks at best buy, great time-waster after the patch, go nuts.
