my old elementary school got whiteboards after it was remodeled, but at the highschool almost every teacher has a chalkboard, some have smartboards(megacool)

If you tell me it's some kind of tactile device I may have to go set an Apple store on fire.
well, I doubt that the school would spend a dime on not making them look better or giving a kid a decent education(the people that help that need a wheel chair because of a broken leg or things like that, treat people like they're retarded), so I don't think they would spend ANY money on better teachers.Noelveiga said:*Drops gas can and watches shop burn*CloggedDonkey said:they are basically touch screen chalk boards that use special pens. they are a little neat, especially saying you can go on the internet, but they are basically a giant touch screen.Noelveiga said:Sorry, what is a "smartboard" again?CloggedDonkey said:my school uses those fancy new "smart boards" like the ones they used on mythbusters, but yes, we do have a few chalkboards from time to time.

To be fair, we did have a projector that teachers could hook up to their laptops back in uni, but this just seems like a monumental waste of money. A projector will be cheaper and serve the same purpose, and if you need to write stuff all you need is a bit of chalk and a flat surface. It will never break and it costs next to nothing.
I guess what I'm saying is maybe the education system needs more and better teachers instead of... "smartboards".
Me too :3 It certainly beats the squeak whiteboard pens make.laserslasher said:i actually like writing with chalk, especially the noise it makes when you write with it (tap tap tap)-- then again, this is coming from a guy who loves the sound keys make when you're typing.![]()
