Monster Girl Quest is a railroaded JRPG. Quite good. And free, if NSFW. Seriously, don't get this if you are under 18. You will regret it.

There are the Pokemon games, but especially Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. Golden Sun and it's sequel, Dark Dawn.

Then there are the strategy RPG's called Fire Emblem. You know, Marth and Roy? Ike? Those guys?

First off, I would like to thank everyone who has posted so far. Your contributions are awesome, and I will be adding all your usernames to a "credit" section at the end of the original post as well as the physical copy. Second, I want to say I dislike you all for making me type so much =P jk. Lastly, I have made some changes in what consoles are on the list so if you read the list over again and anything new comes to mind, please post again and I will add it. Also, if you know anybody who plays JRPGs, send them to this post and have them name off some games. The more people we can get, the better this will turn out.

Querstion... Why did you include Dragon Warrior I for the NES but not 2, 3 and 4? They all indentical in play style so I think you should either include them or de-include 1. Ditto for the other 2 Final Fantasy for NES.

Thats all I can think of for consoles. Making the list solely for consoles is really limiting, though, since a lot of great rpgs are on handhelds.

Edit: Oops, those are already on the list. You should change "3" and "4" to "III" and "IV", since the first two are styled like that and that's the actual title.

Hey, I just want to tell you that on the N64, Holy Magic Century and Quest 64 are the same game, the American version is called Quest 64 and the European Holy Magic Century.

Maybe Grim Grimoire? It's for the PS2 and partially developed by the same guys who did Odin Sphere. But I guess it's more a real time strategy than an RPG...

Also, Persona 2: Innocent Sin didn't get a NA release during its initial PS1 run, but there is both a NA and EU version of the PSP re-release.

EDIT:
Oh, and Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land, for PS2. A strange little game, the 8 original games were made by the US developer Sir Tech, but this spin-off is made by a Japanese developer. It definitely takes some elements from the classic WRPG genre, but I don't know if the end result could still be considered a "WRPG from Japan" or more some weird J/W RPG hybrid.

Maybe you should ask around for opinions before including it.
