So its the holiday now, and im off school for almost 2 months, and so i've come up with challenges that involve me testing my Endurance (Yes, capital E).

So my tests of endurance are
How long can I remain awake.
Go 3 days with only artificial light (No sunlight).
Can I live through the loop of 25 hour days.

Theyre pretty straight forward, i do see a problem with the second one, since I live with other people, i dont think they'd appreciate me blocking out all the windows. The 25 hour day takes some explaining. So basically, every night I will fall asleep at a later and later time, so one day I'll fall asleep at 4am, the next day at 5 am, and so on. Doing this I'll eventually be going to bed at 8 pm, when I reach that time, I've gone the "full cycle". Should be an interesting holiday.

So do ya'll have any ideas, stories, information or insults you want to pass on?

Rather than trying things like this, how about you actually test your limits in other ways? Give yourself a project: Look in the mirror, and try to think what you don't like about yourself. And then use the time trying to change that part.

I myself am going to start a project to increase my physical strength and resume my training, I've been faffing about for a month or two without really exercising.

Why do you want to deliberately screw yourself up?
I think it's called "Munchhausen by internet". I've a few snarky insults, but I don't want to get suspended.

Also, three days without sunlight? You know there's this thing called electricity, right? Try three days of only sunlight in the middle winter.

Well, I've let my guitar and vocal work drop over the last 6 months due to lack of need to play at any level at all thanks to the band I was in, so I've set myself the goal of learning all of Kill 'Em All, all of Ride the Lightning (both by Metallica) and a ton of Megadeth and Motley Crue songs on both guitar and vocals before the next semester starts!

I've got 2 and a half months hopefully I'll be able to accomplish the task :p

While he could have been a bit...nicer about his response, he is correct. These are not going to test your endurance in any meaningful way and could potentially mess you up pretty badly. Especially if you are doing both at the same time...

Try something that would actually be good for you endurance-wise. Run a few miles each day? Lift weights each day? See how many times you can play with yourself without going blind?*

I personally have been playing my UFC trainer game on a daily basis (or at least I was until I hurt my ankle). I intend to pick it back up next week and push myself to do it on a daily basis.

*Yes, this is a joke but you can't really type a funny accent... I'm so hilarious!

This is nicer.

And "potentially mess you up pretty badly"? This is weaker than that guy who allegedly went a week without eating.

Smoking a cigarette once a day is weaker than smoking a pack of cigarettes a day but it's still not good for you. Obviously if you insist on doing this, nothing I say is going to change your mind but you really should think about this before you do it. It's not going to test your endurance in any meaningful way and really can fuck you up (especially if you're doing this over a month long period, 25 days is close enough).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_deprivation (notice all the bad effects...)

Those people you see do this kind of thing and are perfectly fine are trained to do it. They know how to take care of their bodies to handle this sort of thing. They know the warning signs of when they need to stop or at least have people around them who know how to handle it if something does go wrong. Nothing against you but I seriously doubt you are prepared to do this. Best case, you give up and go to bed. Worst case, you kill yourself.

I've got a mate who recently came out of a 'live on water for a fortnight' challenge (for charity). He managed to do it. It was pretty impressive.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he wasn't totally delirious towards the end.
