Batou667 - This isnt a whim, I first came out 4 years ago and have been on hormone therapy for nearly 3 yrs. there was a period where i could wait to have surgery, but the feelings have just gotten worse. You cant imagine when you look at yourself you dont see yourself but someone else. Thats how it was at the start. That part is better from hormones, I can see myself, but I have the wrong parts. Thats the issue here.

Deathleaper - I am trying to finish school, Im studying to be a lawyer. The issue is there are few jobs and it makes it harder when I cant feel right in myself to even be able to think bout trying to compete for a job later on (I still have 2 years of school).

Actually, it can be as low as 5000-8000 USD So the OP must be going for the deluxe model, heh.

And to the OP, you might wish to change your priorities really, there's a reason most transwomen get SRS last, because it's the least likely to be visible to the general public, might I suggest getting some facial feminizing surgery, or some of the other procedures first? I know SRS is a big deal to some people, but it's not going to help you pass, it's not going to help you develop some financial security, and it's not going to make anyone that matters, accept you for who you really are any more...

Please think on this, I've treated over a hundred transwomen over the years, and have seen much the same sort of situation.

Mischa, if you saw its in AUD not USD, im from Australia, and yeah it costs about 15000 here without private health which I cant afford (would bring it down to like 8000 otherwise). Also as I said previously, I have been on hormones for nearly 3 yrs, end of last year i had FFS, but dealing with that part is just more than I can handle at times, especially when it comes to trying to get experience and a job. It is the focus of a lot of anxiety

Well, to get where they are, you know to the point where SRS is even an option, they would of already had hormones, and therapy, so those costs are over and done with anyway. Not to mention, a lot of places will cover the cost of hormones, and therapy, for example, myself, been on hormones for over 5 years, and have been going to therapy for over 6, haven't had to pay a cent for either, heck, even my travel costs are covered (And if there wasn't a backwards crook leading my country right now, SRS would be covered in parts of Canada as well) And the surgeons that perform these surgeries, often cover post care at no extra cost.

So, eh... why are you here spouting ignorance of the topic? You're obviously not in the know here, and are just spreading hate... Why? Someone asked for help with money, they didn't ask for your backwards views on transsexuality, did they?

Yes, there's a lot to deal with when it comes to this sort of issue, I probably know that more than most, having worked with so many transpeople, as well as my own struggle (I personally cannot transition at all, got dealt a really poor hand I guess)

Well, good luck I guess, I've seen quite a few of these donation drives for transwomen, they generally only seem to work for totally passable/utterly gorgeous transwomen (Ironic, as they're usually the ones who need the money the least *shrug*)

I dont mind saying, the surgeons name is Prof David David (weird name but oh well). Hes not an FFS surgeon per se, but hes the head of the MaxilloCranial surgery dept here
