last Tekken Ive gotten to play is Tekken III and I sort of pwnd with Hwoarang & Eddie.
I wish I could play the game now that you mentioned it, pure awesomeness.

I was alright with King and Paul for a while, but then I forgot all the buttons for any moves that did more than mess up somebody's hair.
And Gon is awesome!

Kazuya. Though I'm not all that good in Tekken as a whole. I prefer the Soul Calibur series.

Same here, really. The movelist is a lot more intuitive, it's more rewarding of defensive play (at least, 1 and 2 were), and there's a lot less focus on combos (which, outside of Melty Blood and Fate/Unlimited Codes, I suck at). I kick much more ass on my arcade's SC2 machine...but since Tekken 5: DR gets more players, I've had to compensate. ^^;

Luckily, Armor King was there to make the transition easier. Shining Wizard, for the win.

My best two characters are Xiaoyu and Nina. I make full use of Xiaoyu's acrobatics, catching them off guard with a big flip when they least expect it. The Phoenix Stance counter is also fantastic against kick-spammers.

I stopped playing Tekken after the 3rd one. But I was undefeated with Yoshimitsu for 4 years from the first to the 3rd game!

I gracefully retired after my mate nearly beat me with King!
