What are your 'main' characters names in whatever game you play and why? For example in World of Warcraft, my Paladin in Called 'Palahniuk' after the writer of Fight Club, Choke etc. - and because the name starts with 'Pala'.

Post away, escapees.

I almost always name them "Ty", but just because it's my nickname, but if it doesn't fit, I just stick with the game-given name.

My two main characters in Wow (when I played it) was Diziet, or Razd-Coduresa Diziet Embless Sma da'Marenhide (name taken from the SC operative in Use Of Weapons) and Ulver (Seich) (from Excession).

I'm not even making this up, I almost always name my character Afro Man / Afro Thunder, regardless of gender.

You call what that man spews out on paper as 'writing'? Good golly. ;)

OT: I'm not very imaginative I'm afraid, my characters are usually 'Rae' or something similar.

For my first character in any given game, I name them Kittens with a corresponding number afterwards depending on how many have come before. I'm on Kittens XV.

EDIT: I do this because, at the end of said game when I rescue the world or whatever, I find it humorous to see that it was saved by a man named Kittens.

4 random letters I bash on the keyboard? Or xdgt...Or something cool I can think at the moment of making the character.

Usually I just pick whatever sounds cool and fits the character. My mage character in Dragon Age: Origins was named Chronos, my elf warrior Raziel. My last Morrowind character was Darius. If I'm so stuck and can't think of anything cool sounding, I just name them Fang.

I called my paladin in WoW (when I played) SighsALot (wanted to call him SirSighsALot, stupid character limits!) Becuse I have always "sighed" constantly while playing online games, just for something to say.
I had an Ork Warior called OrkyStomp...

Frankly, I use so many different names its hard to remember... there has been TapTheBeat, FlyMantis, BlameBlade, ect ect...

And CroMagnon, of course! Hahahaha....

I like to make multiple characters, so I have multiple names. I have one name I used to use alot, but I am trying to phase it out.

If I'm playing as a human then it is just 'James' as that is my human name. So I'm 'James Shepard' in Mass Effect and 'James the Lone Wanderer' in Fallout 3.

But if I'm an exotic alien or member of a reptilian race, like an Argonian in Oblivion, then I go as 'Zukan'. It's a name I made up a while ago and I think it rocks.

I tend to take names from Raymond E Feist books, Norse or Greek Mythology (usually Norse) and the aliases I use in online gaming. Or I just use words/names I like from other languages that sound cool and have cool meanings. For example I have a Barbarian named Tohuvabohu which is actually a Hebrew phrase meaning "empty and without form" or something similar I believe.
