Almost always senorfatso, in an ironic attack on my borderline anorexia. Sometimes Pewpotamus or a derivative of such.
When faced with naming an entire party, I usually resort to using the names of the members of Public Enemy, then any Rhymesayers rappers I can think of. Or Maurice/Jose, because they are what I wish my real name was.

For most of my characters I name my characters Gorlock.

It sometimes doesn't fit the character but I still like it.

Let's see, I usually use Kryzantine, with alts having a few modifications near or at the last letter. But my most successful WoW character was actually named Maõri, and unfortunately, I couldn't get a straight bar over the O. Apparently, every Aussie I met recognized that limitation and congratulated me anyway, leading to about 5 private msgs every day from random bypassers asking, "Are you a New Zealander?" or "Are you an Aussie too?", after which I had a lot of fun explaining to them I was a Russian-American living in a Jewish ghetto in NYC. They usually followed up with, "But... you know about the Maori... you even have the special character over it...". He was a Tauren Shammy, fittingly enough.

In JRPGs I usually just leave the default character name but I do have a few standards for other games.

In Pokemon, my character is always named Golden (Gold was the first Pokemon I owned) and my rival is always Luke (my best friend). Alternatively, my sister always names her character after her and her rival after me.

In most fantasy games (I did it in Fallout 3, Dragon Age, and it started in Rappelz when I played that years ago) my male character is named Altheron and my female character is named Aneira.

Garritios normally, Tai Kaurgi if it is a samurai game, Wang Pu otherwise.

The 1st 2 sound cool, the last one is just a funny name I came up with while making a Dynasty Warriors character (who wields a stupidly large sword most of the time).

When playing a single payer game, I usually play a female character. (If I'm going to be staring at something for forty hours...)

1. If I'm playing a thief/stealth character, I name her Laverna, after the roman goddess of lies, frauds, and stealing.

2. If I'm playing any other kind of character, I usually name her Thalia, after the Muse of comedy.

In MMOs I use Didactylos, after the blind philosopher from the book Small Gods.
I usually use my name in RPGs.
As of late though, I've been using the name of an Oblivion character I've become rather fond of: Zarrl Bloodfist, the drunken nordic fistfighter.

If it's a game where the name I go by is a codename or anything, it's always Spazz or an extention of it.

If it's a srs game that's kind of modern I like to use the name Case Alderin. "Case" comes from trying to input "Chase" and missing the H. I thought it actually sounded cool, and Alderin just because. I really have no reason.

It really depends on what kind of game it is and what kind of mood I'm in. For a number of the Zelda games I named Link after Goku from DBZ. Lately though I've started using the name Gotthew, and I'm going to leave it to you to guess how I came up with that one.
