I meant the "flawed pacifist, fighting the eternal war for eternal peace" which they would surely be if they were protagonists in a shooter or something.ChupathingyX said:How the hell are the Space Mrines in Warhammer 40K pacifists? Not to mention the Chaos Space Marines.Shirokurou said:Every Space Marine and every Non-space Marine in a non-space Shooter EVER!!!
Their names aren't important. Their personality is always of the "I'm actually a big pacifist, but an order's an order and blah-blah."
Let's just replace them with a create-a-character or have them be faceless anyway.
Beat me to it. Damn you. Damn him more, I hated that little ****.Neverhoodian said:Rosh Penin from Jedi Academy gets my vote. It's like they took everything that was annoying about Anakin from the prequels and cranked it up to eleven. You can tell just by LOOKING at him that he's a whiny *****:

So annoying he drove me to the dark side just in order to kill him. Was very satisfying though.Neverhoodian said:Well the books go into more detail as to who exactly John is and what his motives are, but I see where you're coming from. If you go solely by the games then there's not much you can glean from him.Sir Boss said:Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed really puts me of the character.

In this same vein I nominate Gordon Freeman as a terrible terrible characterDesiPrinceX09 said:I agree with this, the only reputation this guy has going for him is what the fanboys give him; he's got nothing else to make him interesting.Sir Boss said:Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed form. really puts me off the character.
Of course he's a bad character, he's not supposed to be a character. He's a device and nothing more, just an outlet for the player to play through. Same with Master Chief (I'd assume, as I've never played a Halo game)clipse15 said:In this same vein I nominate Gordon Freeman as a terrible terrible characterDesiPrinceX09 said:I agree with this, the only reputation this guy has going for him is what the fanboys give him; he's got nothing else to make him interesting.Sir Boss said:Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed form. really puts me off the character.
