Samus Aran in Metroid: MOther Other M. Disgrace to the character, disgrace to the franchise, disgrace to Yoshio Sakamoto. And it's "canon"...

Every Space Marine and every Non-space Marine in a non-space Shooter EVER!!!
Their names aren't important. Their personality is always of the "I'm actually a big pacifist, but an order's an order and blah-blah."
Let's just replace them with a create-a-character or have them be faceless anyway.
How the hell are the Space Mrines in Warhammer 40K pacifists? Not to mention the Chaos Space Marines.
I meant the "flawed pacifist, fighting the eternal war for eternal peace" which they would surely be if they were protagonists in a shooter or something.
Space marines as units and cannon fodder are OK in my book. Cause those really aren't characters.

Rosh Penin from Jedi Academy gets my vote. It's like they took everything that was annoying about Anakin from the prequels and cranked it up to eleven. You can tell just by LOOKING at him that he's a whiny *****:

Now if you'll excuse me, I have the sudden urge to strangle something.
Beat me to it. Damn you. Damn him more, I hated that little ****.

Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed really puts me of the character.
Well the books go into more detail as to who exactly John is and what his motives are, but I see where you're coming from. If you go solely by the games then there's not much you can glean from him.

So annoying he drove me to the dark side just in order to kill him. Was very satisfying though.

I briefly was annoyed by Duke, till I realized that the entire game takes place in the imagination of a 14 year old boy, and Duke is his way of coping with the need to grow up.

Both of the main characters in Army of Two.

I agree, he released a virus that damaged/kill innocent civilians. Furthermore he agreed that the old Alex Mercer was stupid to release that virus. And why is he still alive while all those poor people died or turned into infected creatures (no offense to all the devoted players of prototype).

I agree with this, the only reputation this guy has going for him is what the fanboys give him; he's got nothing else to make him interesting.
In this same vein I nominate Gordon Freeman as a terrible terrible character

Of course he's a bad character, he's not supposed to be a character. He's a device and nothing more, just an outlet for the player to play through. Same with Master Chief (I'd assume, as I've never played a Halo game)

And I highly doubt Gordon would even qualify as a "Disgrace" by this thread's standards. That would be like calling Mario a disgrace, despite being objectively the most well-known gaming character in the world.
