Characters that you can't kill, because they share a voice actor with a character you like!

So I've realised recently I'll never be able to finish the Stormcloak side of the civil war in Skyrim, for one simple fact (okay, a little more than that, but this was the deal breaker): General Tullius is voiced by no other than Michael Hogan, who also voiced Captain/Commander Bailey from Mass Effect 2 and 3 (and also Doc Mitchell from Fallout: New Vegas but once you're out of his front door who really goes back to him?).

And I loved Bailey. He was awesome. Anyone who disagrees is obviously a Reaper. So I cannot bring myself to go and put a sword through Tullius for that reason. Ulfric's a bit of a twat anyways.

So I come to you, Escapist, to ask: what characters are you unable to kill (or it pains you to do so when you don't have a choice) because they share a voice actor with a character that you adored?

None.
If I happen to be loaded uup on one of my more unstable characters, everyone is fair game.

I always get slightly guilty when I beat a Yu in Persona 4 Arena because I LOVE JYB. That and I main Shadow Labrys and her winning vs the main protagonist is just not good as far as any story elements are concerned.

Same with Naoto a little bit. I don't know who her VA is but Naoto always had one of the best voices in Persona 4. Her and Adatchi because JYB!

Ehh, Shabrys has the very best voice though. That's the only reason I need to pick her and ruin some dreams. She even has some good defeat quotes

"HOW DID I LOSE TO THEM?!"

Because Yu has several moves that hard counter Asterius unless you're very careful with him. Sorry Shabrys.

Michael Hogan also played Colonel Tigh from the new Battlestar Galactica, which makes him even more awesome. I still ended up killing Doc Mitchell from New Vegas because I sided with the Powder Gangers.

I've never found myself unwilling to harm a character because it shares a voice actor with another character. That said, I prefer not killing things when at all possible - so I usually have much greater reasons to stay my hand than a voice actor. It's also worth mentioning I never play out-right evil characters, only pragmatic ones.

You must be like the only person I know who has ever sided with the powder gangers. Why would you do that?

I generally don't just kill people in games unless I have to. That said, it doesn't matter who their voice actor is. If they push me, then I push right back.

Not being able to fight an opponent due to recognizing their VA is something like debilitating fanboyism.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. I was new to the whole Bethesda-style sandbox RPG thing, and I didn't actually know that there was an option to side with the villagers. The Powder Gangers are actually quite an interesting faction if you get to know them, and there are a lot of quests that you miss out on if you just wipe them out. I also had no idea that they were completely insignificant beyond the Goodsprings/Primm area, and the Powder Ganger Guard armour was good enough that I hung onto it until I got to Vegas (taking a small shortcut through Black Mountain) and the snipers at Camp McCarran started shooting at me.

Somehow I knew that this post would be about Michael Hogan and the Skyrim Civil war... must be developing a gaming 6th sense ;)

Basically same for me; I can't kill Tullius, not only because of Michael Hogan, but because I HATE Ulfric.

I never killed the Emperor in Oblivion because he was voiced by Patrick Stewart, or "Dad" in Fallout 3 because he was voiced by Liam Neeson.

Not that I had the option. ;)

I will kill someone even if I really like their voice actor, Mr. Burke form fo3 is a perfect example of this. I love Lucien Lachance, however I will still kill Mr. Burke(if for some god forsaken reason I feel like playing fo3)

You're a witch! TO THE STAKE WITH YOU!
Ulfric would be better if you could slap some sense into him. Alas.
