For me theres:

Gai Daigoji from the anime Martian Successor Nadesico... he was one of the coolest character ever! And I still don;t understand why he died so early on!

Doyle from Angel series 1. Angain I really loved that guy and its almost like they kill him off to add more "important" characters -.-

He was a much more interesting character than Count Doku (or however you spell it) and he was also the ONLY character that was actually interesting in The Phantom menace. DAMN YOU GEORGE LUCAS!

D'Angelo Barksdale. One of the most sympathetic and intelligent characters in the show, killed off halfway through the second series. I was sad when he died, but even sadder that nothing really came off his death, at least not initially.

Saying that someone dies is a massive spoiler. I don't know if you're a fan of the series, but how would you (or a fan of the series if you're not) have liked it if you had learned about that massive death related spoiler in the 6th Harry Potter book before you read it? Hmm?
